6950 modded temps...manual or auto fan control?
i got this 6950 yesterday and modded it to sapphire 6970 bios....the card is now idling at 43C with 24% fan speed....while running furmark yesterday for 20mins temp reached as high as 90C with the auto fan speed around 47%....
is this normal or should i have a manual setting for the fan?? if so: how much for regular pc usage and for gaming(ill be playing crysis warhead, cod black ops, battlefield bc2, medal of honor, flight simulator x) any input will be appreciated. |

regular fan is fine when gaming furmark is above and beyond what any game will load the gpu to.
that said if in a multi gpu setup fan profiles would need to be made with something like afterburner to better handle temps |

Is it possible to adjust modded 6950 multi gpu fan profiles in bios ?
I tried with newest RBE but it doesn't work well. Only difference was a lowered tmax the other settings didn't change. Above tmax the fans runs at 100% and cooled cards under tmax fans slowed down and so on... I think i tomorrow have to try afterburner. |
