X1600 Problem

This morning after having installed new RAM, after I turned on my PC I noticed a red screen behind bootup screen saying something about video bios and whatnot. I wasn't quite sure what it was complaining about, so I allowed it to continue to boot. Everything worked fine, or so I though until I loaded up GTA:SA. During the process of loading up, I got some artifacting, and once it finally loaded into the game, it crashed, and my monitor read 'Sync Over Range'. I decided to test this out with more graphics intensive applications, and got the same problem everytime. I did drop one RAM stick onto my graphics card accidently during installation, but I dont think it was bad enough to do any damage to the pcb. No physical damage is visible, so I doubt it did anything.

Try reinstalling CCC... see if you can find out what that red screen said.

the message was difficult to see, it was behind the bootup screen, but i was able to make out that it had something to do with video bios, the usual STOP 0X0000 or whatever lol. i'll try reinstalling ccc and i hope i dont freeze up before i am able to do so x_x

See if the problem fixes when you take out the new ram.

okay, I removed the old ram ( Kingston HyperX DDR400 2x512 ) and put in a Corsair Valueram 1GB stick, and everything loaded up fine, was able to even play GTA:SA. Maybe my motherboard is crap and cant handle my ram's timings x_x
