Gah, DVD Buner issue...

ffs, issue after issue...gah, just grabbed a lite-on SHM-165P6S04C...a dual layer dvd burner right? Well, she doesn't detect cd's...but in a way it does. What happens is in my computer it's detected as a "DVD-RAM Drive". And as SOON as I stick in a cd, it'll read it...think about it a bit...then *boom* (ok, not really, but you get the idea), it sees my dvd burner as a "CD-Drive" With NOTHING in it...Double You Tee Eff Mate?

Help ASAP would be appreciated.

Have you looked on the Liteon website for a firmware upgrade?
