Age of empires 3

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to install Age of empires 3 onto a friends machine but its having none of it. Each time - Its stopping at 70% with the error:

Error 1305 - Error reading file from C;/....../CreditsCine.agesscn

Was wondering if anyone else have had this problem?

Bad file from the installer be it from the disk or otherwise.

How would I get around this?

We can't exchange the disc as it was purchased in 2007....

You could try cleaning the disc using some method known to work. Something store bought will most likely yield positive results.

My Oblivion Disc got messed up real bad. I used Dr.CD to repair the scratches and it wen't from not recognizing the disc to installing.

Check the disc for scratches, dust, etc. Buy a cheap kit to fix any scratches or try whatever methods there are to fix the disc.

Can't see any errors on the disc.

Would if be worth installing it onto another machine and copying the files across through an external hard-drive?

You could try that, not sure if it will work.

Also if you can access the contents of the Disc, you can try to copy everything from the CD and then Burn a new one. Then try to install again with the newly made Disc.

Just copying the files from the CD to the computers hard-drive. Will try the disc if that fails although I don't think i've got a disc large enough....

You could download Deamon tools and make a Image of the Disk that's playing up ? then you justMount that image with deamon tools and install using that. Basically Deamon tools Makes a virtual Drive.

I used it the other day on my Black and white 2 Cd Which had a great Big bit of the Disc Missing and would not install at all but it was saved thanks to deamon tools : )
