Looking to upgrade mobo/processor

So I bought a stock gateway with a shabby mobo and a outdated proccessor. I am looking to upgrade my motherboard to one that is capable of running a amd phenom II 6 core core.AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz....

I currently have a 650 watt psu by corsair. will I need to replace it?

No, that power supply will run that just fine depending on the video card. What type of RAM do you have? DDR2 or DDR3?
