Are CRT's worth anything nowadays?
I've got like 10 of them, ranging from 14" to 17". The last time tested they were working, but basically now I don't know what to do with them since they're occupying too much space and I don't use them. Shipping overseas is totally out of the question because since they're heavy the shipping charge would be disproportionate. I'd hate to just throw them away... and for obvious reasons I'd prefer selling them rather than giving them for free
. If I were to put them 'for sale' locally what would be a good asking price? Say would €20 per monitor "as is" be reasonable?

I've been trying to sell my 15-inch LCD for around the same price, but have had no takers as of yet. You may want to consider something lower.

Freebies.
I have sold a few "refurb" as is computers with CRT monitors to immigrants for $50 for a whole older system. Just format, reinstall windows or linux, install drivers and set it out at a yard sale.

I'd pay very good money for a 24" or larger CRT, but, really, anything smaller. no. I'd just donate them

I'd really like the 24" widescreen CRT Sony made, but they're VERY rare.

Exactly what I wanted, I'd gladly replace my Asus LCD with one of those...

yea i tried to take a 15" CRT to 3 diff pawn shops and they all were said they wouldn't pay or take it. I'd say yardsale and super cheap or donation is your only option.

Unfortunately you are not in the US, BP.
Here you can take them to Goodwill (who has partnered with Dell to take old computer stuff), you can assess a value for each, get a receipt, and then write them off your taxes as a charitable donation. Otherwise, they are not really worth anything anymore.

example i was going to order a sony 19 inch crt in 2002 and it would have cost me about £450 or 715.86 US$ so i dread to think what the cost of a 24 inch would be ![]() to bp if it was me i would ask between 10-€20 for them, and then lower your price if you need them out the way

donate them to a nonproft, i run the IT for my mother in laws non profit and we take what we can get the crt's may take up more space but I prefer them due to the lower failure rate compared with the lcd's people donate.

![]() i love the 21 inch i have, just that it's slightly darker than i would like (suffers from a bios chip problem present in many sun micro/ dell monitors ) but it still works and uses less than this 17 inch monitor i usually use (due to the sony weighing about 5 stone ) ![]()

Most won't take them. At least around here. They have enough old crap already.
