System Specs

Sad days indeed.

I just have to shed some tears. I have had 2 wonderful years with my last baby. Such wonderful times I have had with my ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe and it's XP-M. It has been so good to me that I was hasty to upgrade. Then in January I finally made the leap and upgraded to a new platform. So I bought a new 939 cpu, motherboard and pci-e video card. The new rig runs great! Im so happy I finally laid down the dough for the new rig. THEN! ALL OF A SUDDEN! Socket 939 is giving up the ghost! There is the new AM2 platform that is killing off the new (to me) 939. It makes me sad, but then I pause for a moment and rejoice! The new platform's performance is reporting to be WORSE then my beloved 939! I rejoice again knowing that the remaining 939's are getting more into my price range and that all the ddr1 I have will now find a new (939) home. I guess sometimes, tears are good.

actually, thanks to socket AM2 and intel conroe, 939 might have some fight in it yet,

theres going to be a massive price drop on the 27th of this month thanks to the intel vs AMD battle,

i plan to exploit that to get the best 939 i can afford
