MSI Intros Two New GeForce GT 440 Graphics Cards

MSI kicked off its GeForce GT 440 offer with two models, the low-profile N440GT-MD1GD3/LP, and the base-model N440GT-MD512D5. The former uses 1 GB of GDDR3 memory, and the latter uses 512 MB faster GDDR5. The low-profile card uses a miniaturized version of MSI's Twin Frozr II heatsink, which uses two 40 mm fans. The N440GT-MD512D5 uses a full-height PCB and a standard-looking GPU-heatsink with MSI's own cooler shroud design. The GPU features 96 CUDA cores, and a 128-bit wide GDDR3/GDDR5 memory interface. The GPU is clocked at 810 MHz, 1620 MHz CUDA cores, and 900 MHz memory. Display outputs include one each of DVI, HDMI, and VGA. Expect sub $100 price points.

sounds like an over clocked 240, about as much use probably because at the graphics settings that will run DX11 wont make a difference

Great PhsyX cards. I'm thinking of getting the GDDR5 version myself to replace my aging 8400GS backup card.

When a card (Geforce GT 440) will cost 100$ -> good information,
but when not... (>100$) -> bad...

It makes me want to laugh when I see a low profile card with Twin Frozer II

On newegg I'm seeing gt 440s for $80, same as the 5670. Sadly this seems ill priced based on tpu's review. $70 would be more performance appropriate.

not sure why people buy a whole new nvidia card to use as physx, when you can just use your normal nvidia card as physx., also physx is stupid.

Even if you have a ATI card , you still can enable physx without a nvidia card. I play Mafia 2 with a ati card and had physx at high settings, i mean you aren't really missing anything amazing, just some extra effects here and there. I never understood the hype IMO, just like dx10 or dx11.

You can enable it in some games not all without the nv card

I like that they are both 1 slot solutions, but how do these compare the GT 430 ?
