Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad

Game: Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad
DLC: Unknown but Expansion Pack is in the works.
Duration: Unknown
Developer: Tripwire Interactive
Publisher: Tripwire Interactive
Engine: Unreal Engine 3
Release Date: Q2 2011
Genre: FPS WWII
Modes: SP and MP up to 64 players online
Platforms: PC Only
Video: Interview with John Gibson

One feature that stuck out is that you can dial in the range on your sniper scope. Also you can lower your view and look at the iron sight (and adjust that as well) on some sniper weapons for close quarter fighting. Server admins can implement a timer indicating you can't stay in one spot for those who like to camp. MP will have commanders and squad leaders. Commanders have the option to force spawn players right in the battle.

Also on the sniper scopes you are able to use the normal Ironsights on them as well and adjust them.

There is also two mods in production (will find links to them later)

Supposed to come out Q1/Q2 but as long as it's finished im happy, as will be an instant buy.

Here are more tidbits about the game from bash and slash podcast:
Quote:
Cancel Reload confirmed
Bullet Exit/entry Wounds confirmed
Ambient Temperature influences MG Overheating / have an Effect on Muzzle Velocity of Tank Rounds
Pavlov Map is included
SinglePlayer will be enhanced MP Maps, not just Countdown with Bots.
Competitve Support again confirmed (this made Dreamgirl Very VERY Happy )
12 Mods for RO2 (some only in planning stage)
Terrain Deformation is out because of MP problems.
Quote:
I asked: "The recent Gamespot article talked about tanks destroying a house piece by piece. Is procedural destruction in, or is this just the article getting it wrong?" ... or something to that effect.

The answer: YES you can destroy certain houses piece by piece, but won't be able to level all of them, either because they are too strong or for gameplay reasons.

Good info. I liked the idea of having to adjust your aim while looking from ironsight. The slow breathing for assualt rifles is a plus. Hmm, any info if this game will use PB or not?

I remember playing Red Orchestra when it was a mod for Unreal Tournament 2003? nice to see it's still around.

The sniper dial and the breathing have existed before in some games, as in Delta Force, but mindless shooters and maybe gamepads compatibility has reduced our experience.

Still playing RO1 mod Darkest Hour every other day.

Thanks for the headsup.

Strange post, I only implied that it is a feature in this game.

And I only implied what I implied, what's your point? Are only RO2 praisings allowed? It is GREAT to have these features that make it impossible to run, gun, snipe and jump all at the same time like the despicable blockbuster games!!!

It was an off color reply, simple as that. My post regarding the use of the scope didn't imply any other game making it moot. That's the point.

Its an FPS supporting up to 64 players taken from the WWII era. This game is designed specifically for the PC.

Got to remember 64players and combined Arms maps so tanks and infantry which make fantastic battlefields.

But unlike a majority of online fps's, such as Dod No crosshairs, weapon sway, Ballastics, Havining to manually rebolt rifle after each round.

Their will be a relaxed realism mode (Still no crosshair) and a Realism mode (aka current one on RO:OST)

As a big fan of RO:OST, which I still plays regularly , this is a good new to have a realism mode. I hope nothing is dumbed down to be "more accessible".

The squad command looks miles more refined from OST, also you can call in Motars, Artierly & Heavy and believe maybe airstrikes.

Look at the videos for First person cover system as it looks fantastic. Has their been any update on the heroes system? as haven't been on the tripwire forums recently.

The cover system is a rip-off of Metal of Honor: Airborne.

Sorry but who cares? Looks miles better then the Airborne system, that looks more like leaning around the corners or above objects to me.

Also it will be having a German campaign on it as well and a Japense one for one of the mods in the making.

That is very fair. Overal im just looking forward to annoy snipers with a normal rifle, like i did quite oftern on OST for out shooting them. Combined warfare maps maybe, but i've disliked tank maps for people, wanting to solo, or never listerning to the main gunner :/
