Arrow P67 Motherboard

Well, got $800-900 to invest into a new processor, motherboard, and case...

Just ordered the i7 2600K for $320 (Should arrive Thursday).
I'm planning on ordering the HAF X in a couple of weeks since it has a week shipping delivery estimate and I'll be out of town all of next week.
Now for the motherboard.. I know not all of them have hit the market yet, so I'm trying to get an idea of what to get whenever they do.

I originally was looking at the ASUS Maximus IV Extreme and the un-released EVGA Classified, but maybe those are just too much overkill for what I'm looking for..

I want something that can overclock pretty beastly, but I don't need anything more than x8/x8 crossfire.

So what I have in mind:
- ASUS P8P67 WS Revolution
- GIGABYTE GA-P67-UD7-B3

Thoughts and other ideas?

My next build will more than likely have a Gigabyte board. I've been really pleased with my current EVGA board, but I haven't heard anything bad about Gigabyte boards since I've been on TPU. They surely seem to be at the top when it comes to performance vs cost and reliability.

LoL, I like Siberian Husky puppies.

I'm coming from a GA-P55A-UD3 and it was a really good board, but wasn't able to clock very high which could have just been caused by a bad batch of 860's, but oh well...

I'm leaning more towards the UD7, since it has really good specs and I like the color scheme on it. And it's a known quality board from X58 series.

I hate the P8P67 boards because they all look alike! xD
Honestly, I don't even know the difference between them all.. >.>

Meant to put $320* xD

And MicroCenter's price was $316 with tax when I calculated it out a few weeks ago. o.O
And those are Pickup-only prices, so I don't feel like driving an hour to get a $15 break.. >.>

And I wouldn't get a Biostar, considering they're not necessarily a top-end manufacture.
From what I've seen, they focus more on low-end boards.

Overclocking the 2600K or the 2500K is pretty much based on the processor itself; pretty much any of the P67 boards will allow you hit 4.8 and after that it is dependent on the processor to take you higher.

I hit 4.8 first attempt on air with both the ASUS P8P67 Deluxe and Pro boards. I did find the MSI P67A-GD55 to be more temperamental and their new BIOS is kind of sophomoric and buggy.

Next board for me will be the ASRock Fatality.

The main thing to look at is the quality and number of CPU phases. This will allow the board to give sufficient power to the CPU.

Unless you need a board with the NF200 chipset or Intel integrated LAN I don't see why anyone would spend over the Asrock Extreme4. Aside from the very low end boards with basic voltage regulation and chipset / mosfet cooling or boards that still have EFI issues, there's not a lot of difference between P67 boards. 1-7 MHz bclk headroom and that's shaky at best. Basically you're limited on the turbo multi by how much voltage you want to risk and cooling.

Go for a Asrock P67 Extreme4 or Extreme6. Very good boards for the money, plus Asrock gives 1 year warranty on-top of the normal warranty on their B3 revisions, becouse of the chipset fiasko.

Gotta agree with Rick. I can say for sure that Biostar has really stepped up starting with x58, and now P67. Do a google search for Biostar TP67XE overclocking. You'll see that it's become a favorite board of enthusiast. Honestly, it might be the best price to performance P67 board on the market. However, the B3 revision for this board will not be available until the beginning of April.

UD7
Difficult board to oc, but its predictable after a while and relatively fast for 3Ds

why would you cancel an order then put said canceled board back in the decision?? everyone already said ud7 once. I say re0rder the ud7 and wait a few more extra days due to order cancellation. the P8P67 isnt nearly as good.
