Preferred position of Favorites etc. is as in IE8, but haven't found a way to get this setup in IE9...?

That was one of the few complaints when I was trying out the Beta. Hated having Favorites on the right side

Yeah, I found that tip. But if you have loads of favorites, like mine 468 it's not a possible solution.
Plus it takes up an extra row...

Yes... so far the only complaint I have. But can't help wonder why Microsoft made that decision? Ergonomically unhealthy it is too...

Well, no more moaning from me. Will stick to this until they change their minds! Buttons are prettier too!

Don't understand why Microsoft didn't make it customable like in IE8.
Yes exactly

I too have been using the RCs and have been using them for school. The new stuff is indeed very awesome, secure, and stable. My school finally supports the browser and it is soooooo cooo.

Just installed IE9. Seems fine. Not much difference for what I do.
Seems faster loading pages.

I like it except for the favorites button being on the right too. It'd be cool if it were customizable, maybe the next version will be.

thats the deal really, they boosted its compatibility again (more in line with other browsers than the IE6 bullshit), and hardware accelerated.

that coul be but chrome and firefox both work fine and do not do it whatsoever. so to me it only leaves one thing to blame. I keep hoping an update will release and fix it but i am gonna have to stop using ie9 untill that happens. its a shame to because I like the new look.

I just upgraded to IE9 and I'm impressed (especially by the performance improvements). I just don't like how they omitted the search portion of the main tool bar.

All searches are now done in the address bar. Works much better than the little search bar of yesteryear.
