Which RAM would you pick?

So here's the thing, I ordered some OCZ Gold DDR3-1333 Mhz RAM, yet the product got discontinued after I'd already paid for it, the very nice ppl at DirectCanada.com gave me the choice to pick any of the 4gb DDR3 RAM in the approx value of the OCZ and would give me express air-shipping to get it out to me the next day. I picked the Kingston HyperX Genesis DDR3-1600, 9-9-9-27. I honestly have no idea why, I was on the clock and I knew kingston was a good company so I picked em. Was it a bad choice? If so how bad? Remember, price isn't an issue in this poll.

Edit: The bottom Option Listed as DDR2 is in fact DDR3

Kingston HyperX KHX1600C9D3K2 DDR3-1600:
Speed 1600MHz
Latency CAS 9
Timings 9-9-9-27
Voltage 1.7 – 1.9

Kingston HyperX Genesis KHX1600C9D3X2K2 DDR3-1600:
Speed 1600MHz
Latency CAS 9
Timings 9-9-9-27
Voltage 1.65

G.SKILL F3-10666CL7D-4GBECO DDR3-1333:
Speed 1333MHz
Latency CAS 7
Timings 7-7-7-21
Voltage 1.35

G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-10666CL8D-4GBXM DDR3-1333:
Speed 1333MHz
Latency CAS 8
Timings 8-8-8-24
Voltage 1.5

Corsair XMS3 CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 DDR3-1600:
Speed 1600MHz
Latency CAS 9
Timings 9-9-9-24
Voltage 1.65

G.SKILL Ripkaws F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH DDR3-1333
Speed 1600MHz
Latency CAS 7
Timings 7-7-7-21
Voltage 1.5

I voted for the bottom ripjaws, even though they're listed as DDR2
I'm guessing the RAM's going with the AMD setup in your specs, and AMD CPU's tend to respond better to lower latency than higher clocks, so I'd pick the lowest latency ones (the other CL7's are eco's, I wouldn't bother with them).

EDIT: I don't think you made a bad choice, the difference won't be noticable.

Yah I wasn't planning on doing any overclocking, even though my board could OC to accept the 1600 mhz ram. I know lower timings are better but are they less stable? What if they're stock lower timings? Also, is higher or lower voltage better?

Unfortunately, that's the limits of my knowledge! I'm more of a fixer than an OC'er... I see there are some pro's watching, so it's just a matter of time.

I'm not an OC'er either, I actually picked it cause it looked cool had a cool name and it was kingston :P lol. I figured at stock speeds they would be approx the same performance?

Yeah, all of those 1600 kits are going to perform about the same at stock. If you were going to overclock them, then you would want to seek reviews to see how they overclock, the pick the kit that overclocks the best with lowest latencies and voltage. If you are gonna go by appearance, I'd agree with you. The Kingston Genesis are the best looking of the bunch.

So at stock speeds, 7-7-7-21 (G-Skills Rip Jaws) would preform pretty much the same as 9-9-9-27 (Kingston HyperX Genesis)?

Better. With a mild OC at say 1400mhz and 2600-2800 on the CPU/NB they'll be great.

Yeah, considering he is running AMD, this is probably true...though he says he is not going to overclock.

Would that be 24/7 stable? and what would the performance difference between that and stock kingston hyperX genesis be?

I'll use my RAM as an example since it can run at all of those settings. Gimme a couple minutes.

Lol, I'm not sure if it's just my RAM but there is very little difference. 1333 cas 7 has a bit better latency but that's about it. Get whatever is cheaper.

They were all the same price, well free in fact, and free express air shipping, $33 value :P

I gave it some thought. I did notice that booting up, lower timings at a lower frequency was noticeably quicker. This would also traslate over to gaming. Plus, that confirms what many reviews have proclaimed with memory on the AM3 platform. Go with the lower latency stuff. These things really just don't show up too well in Everest bench and WPrime.

You don't have to overclock, just unlock the multiplier to allow your ram divider to hit 1600MHz...

And I would get G.SKILL over any other company besides Mushkin, when it comes to RAM.

And I'm too lazy to look up the specs for each set of RAM, so list it..

Lower CAS = Better
Lower Voltage = Better
Higher Frequency = Better

Yah my board allows for 1600 RAM if you OC, would I do that in the BIOS? Or on the mobo(MSI 870-G45) because it has those easy OC switches?

I'll post all the specs in a sec.

EDIT: DONE!
