RMA-ing

Hello. Just a question about RMA-ing a graphics card. Do you have to send it back in its original box with all original items? Or whats the deal?

Every Manufacture might have different conditions on how an item returns. Check them first.

Most of the times yes but a few times people at the shop have just told me to bring them just the card. so it depends on the shop. but if you bought it online then definitely yes - you need to package it back up with all the original manuals and accessories

Return every thing unless other wise told not to.. For 1 EVGA asked me to just send the card back on it's own and they sent a replacement which was just the card.

For example (not completely relevant but still), I sent my Xbox 360 for repairs (why I kept buying them, I don't know ) with my Call of Duty 3 disc still inside. I got it back and it was gone! Microsoft nicked my CoD 3 disc! So make sure you remove all accessories when you send something back for repair.

Truth is they didnt gank it

MS simply does this:

Gets your broken machine
Puts with some others
Sends you one that WAS broken, but has been fixed.

So someone else may get your disk. Probably not, but maybe.

It's really not relevant to the thread. Since you have been in contact with the store, can't you ask them what their return policy is? They would be the best to tell you what they need for your return.

Im sorry for your loss but tbh that was your fault and come on -- do you seriously expect them to send the disc back to you if they found it in your xbox??

just remember to take the disc out of the drive before you send it back next time

Dont want to get too off topic, but when I helped my brother send in his PS3 they specifically asked if there was a disc stuck in the drive and returned it. Its been a while since I had a 360, but if there is no manual eject or other way to retrieve the disc they should be returning the game (can't even remember if my RROD 360 drive would open).

But did you return the PS3 because there was a disc stuck in the drive or did they send it in and you just forgot to remove it?

If you dont TELL them theres a disc inside when you send it in, then its going to be a case of finders keepers tbh.

You can't remove a disc from a PS3 that has YLOD without opening it and voiding your warranty. My point was that unless there is an accessible way to get your disc out of a damaged console, they should proactively ask if there is a disc in the drive.

Good point -- but like i said, If you dont tell them there was a disc stuck inside when you return it its finders keepers. I wouldnt expect to get it back if it was me returning a console

I wonder what would happen if you RMA'd a computer case, with all of your hardware still inside.

Then you must be the biggest Moron that has ever walked the earth. Warranty only covers the case -- not the stuff inside it. if parts go missing, its none of their concern an they can deny that it arrived with anything inside
