OCZ Technology Group, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance solid-state drives (SSDs) for computing devices and systems, today announced that it has shipped its one millionth solid state drive.

"Solid state drives continue to represent a game-changing technology for both consumers and enterprise clients, and we are proud to achieve this milestone," said Ryan Petersen, CEO of OCZ. "But most of all, I wanted to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of our loyal customers and partners, without whom this success would not be possible."

OCZ offers a broad array of interface options for solid state drives including SATA, SAS, Fibre Channel, PCI-Express, and the proprietary High-Speed Data Link (HSDL). OCZ designs and manufactures SSD solutions to address a wide spectrum of applications from personal computers and high-performance workstations to mission critical enterprise storage arrays.

Whilst I'm not a big fan of OCZ, they're still pretty decent and add some good competition to the market place.
Well done OCZ

Well, they are one of the driving forces behind SSD adoption. The more ssds they ship, the faster they pay down the R&D costs. Then we might get some decent capacity /per $.

PS So what's the big deal with OCZ SSD? I know some people still on Vertex I indilinx, happy as a pig in poop. Others that hate the same drives. Same for theit sandforce drives.
Is it the controllers they use, or bad memory? Or is it just people killing their drives with benching and bad flashes?

So that means they have at least made $200million give or take a lil if they sold 1million at $200.(if my math is right) Some of their ssd's cost more and some less but that's a lot of money.

Revenue ≠ Profit
Their revenue is supposed to be $189 Million.. but they are still losing money

yea but that is only looking at SSDs the SSDs are making OCZ money its why they killed off there Memory division it was losing money, theyve removed the failing parts of there company

they closed there memory division shut down Hypersonic there boutique PC manufacturer, and focused on PC Power & Cooling + SSDs overall there making a profit where as before about a year ago or so they were not.

Mostly enthusiasts for now, that's why the adoption rate is so slow. We are paying the early adopter tax. They won't really take off until they get cheaper.

Its true though. Go look at the reviews for OCZ SSD's. Just about all of them mention that the drive has failed or arrived doa in a short amount of time.
