Asus P8P67 Pro or Gigabyte P67A-UD4

I'm having a hard time deciding between these 2 boards for a second Sandy Bridge build. They are both B3 revisions. I've researched them to death. On paper, the Asus seems like a more solid feature packed product, but I've had the best luck with Gigabyte over the last couple of years. I'm looking for some other educated opinions, since I can't make up my mind. I'd appreciate opinions with solid reasoning, not because you are partial to one brand or the other. Please NO additional suggestions for other boards. I've done enough research that I know I want one of these two mid range boards.

I own the Asus you are thinking about, made the same choice you did. I really went with the Asus due to the EUFI bios. I am extremely satisfied with the board so far. It does everything with ease, it simply works great.
I have no direct experience with the UD3, I wish I could help on that count but.. I will say that I doubt you would be dissapointed in the Asus, It is definitely not a cheapie board, very well laid out and runs exceedingly cool.

Actually, I'm looking at the UD4, not the UD3. I'm guessing that was a typo. What made you choose the Asus over the Gigabyte, since you were chosing b/t the same 2 boards? Do you overclock? If so, how well does the Asus board recover from failed OC attempts?

how good is the RMA support on gigabyte?? Im after experiencing Asus RMA and i still havent got my graphics card back & its nearing 2 months since i RMAd it.

well I run at 5.3ghz if that says anything, I run a custom water loop. I simple set offset voltage to +.250MV and leave all of the speedstep EIST stuff enabled, it runs 1.440 loaded and idles at 1.25 or so.
My chip is great but has a hard wall of ~5.4 even 1.6v doesn't work. My buddy's auto OC run got to 5150 mine only got to 4900. That is a neat tool to run BTW. I was actually grinning while it ran.

How's vdroop? I've heard some cmplaints of random BSOD on stock settings. Have you experienced any of that?

I use LLC seting of extreme to scale it up so it is negative droop. Allows lower coreV. I ran all my benches with volts alot higher than after the newness wore off I started dropping back volts. I haven't seen any BSODs that I didn't directly cause.

So, LLC on this board works well. I've heard that LLC has been a bit unpredictable on some boards. My TP67XE goes a touch too high on the vcore with LLC.

I noticed that Asus support is basically non-existant these days. I wonder if Asus is going to fail.

Got the two of them so if you want me to test something let me know (although both of mine are B2). I would find it very hard to recommend one over another so I hope the reasons I like each one help with your decision:

For overclocking I'd recommend the GB as it seems to have the better LLC with almost no VDroop. Also has a BIOS where you can disable power saving functions, as opposed to the confusing Asus layout and turbo being switched on.

But as you can see from system specs, I'm using the Asus for main computer because it simply has more features which for a day to day make it a better choice.

i guess both of them are the same just look at their back how many usb, hdmi and so and so
what about cooling solution: heat pipe, heat sink fan
how many slots that it has and what do you need, like some people use pci than pcix 1x
and how long the warranty, it covers how about after sales in your place

I would have to go with the asus, the last 3 asus boards i have had have been stellar overclockers and soooo reliable, you dont need the asus warranty unless its doa lol.

Plus from a purely looks pov, i dont like the look of gig boards, weird colors.

Never had a bsod yet on mine but it's only the standard Asus P8P67. Everything has just worked from day 1, stable and reliable. Due to my balance of cooling/noise I only clock up to 4.5 for everyday use but it didn't have a problem getting me to 5GHz when I had 3DMark run.
