msi 6950 problem

I flash my msi radeon 6950 with HD_6950_to_HD_6970_mod and now it do not want to boot. I make atiflash my backup.bin atiflash -p 0 backup.bin -f but it says rom not erased ERROR 0fl01.
Should I trash now my radeon 6950 ?

System Specs

Is it the 2GB version? Does it have a BIOS switch? We need more information.

No do not have switch is a 2GB msi twin frozen (

Original bios was
Bios date/time 12/20/10 03:53
Bios version 113-AD01900-102

your bios is brocken. you have to send it back to repair

It have something like switch 1 2 near crosfire but no swith. Empty (
Maybe it should be contact somehow?

no. it dont has a dual bios. send it back where you bought it. maybe you will get a replacement

do you have another card?? if so put your 6950 into the second slot and force flash it to stock bios. you should have asked around and did some research before doing that. I would be surprised if msi did rma it due to the circumstances

Yer my 6950 in second slot. In first slot is working old card ) How to make switch contact manualy there is a place for switch and I guess it was removed but 4 contact I can see. If someone understand what contact does switch. peheps we can do it manualy ? Return card is no way (

dont do that you will definately loose warranty if you screw it up that way. there is no switch because there is only one bios on that card. use atiflash and flash in DOS. make a bootable drive and get atiflash on it then ill get you the command line to force flash

Flash program says always rom not erased. whe using force flash same thing.

i had the same error message when i flashed my twin frozr 2.
the bios is definitely dead, its not posible to flash it trough atiflash. the bios has to be flashed or even replaced by msi.
dont try to connect or bridge the removed switch on the card.

You can flash the bios again with a hardware hack, by shorting two of pins on one of the chips on your card.

I just fixed my MSI 6950 Twin FrozR II by doing this and was able to flash the bios back to the original using Atiflash.
