What socket are you talking about? LGA 1156 or the newer 1155?

There are always good board from Gigabyte (UD3 good option if you don't know what to go), the upper tier Asus boards are good, but ASrock is a bit of hit and miss (and you really need to know which one is good). MSI is also good.

I'd recommend my own board (MSI P67A-GD65) for LGA 1155 at least.

ASRock got good reviews lately for 1155, I just built my new machine on extreme 4. No problems whatsoever lots of features for a good price. Only time will tell if it's the right choice but I have on the other machine an ASRock P35 which is in service for the fourth year. Back then they didn't get the OC capabilities right and anyway I wasn't interested, but nevertheless a solid board that works great to this day.

the thing with asrock (and many other companies)
is that they will change manufacturing processes but not model identifiers. so the model that was reviewed positively 2 months ago may not be the model you get when you order. it may use cheaper components, or a modified architecture. it will be 95% the same, but that 5% can make a huge difference.

be specific is all, or you may pay for it.
