EverCool Announces Dr. Cool, World's First Router Cooler

Guess what it is. A crab? The tool for clip game? Or a small UFO? It is the new cooler launched by EVERCOOL, who is always driven by the coexistence of both cooling and aesthetics, but also emphasizing the usability. Dr. Cool is the World’s first specialized cooler for Routers and IP sharing devices with a unique design. It was conceived with three features in mind: branding, creative aesthetics and effective cooling. This last being where EVERCOOL pays special attention to, as well as taking into consideration user’s feedback. It has a white, delicate and compact appearance that makes it attractive to people’s eyes.

Dr. Cool provides a cooling solution to address overheating problems. Using one 8cm long-life fan it provides sufficient airflow to achieve silent cooling, effectively dissipating the heat. It also helps prevent damage caused by heat by long periods of operation and extend the router’s or IP sharing device’s life expectancy.

The retractable clip design makes Dr. Cool compatible with different sizes of routers (IP sharing devices), additionally it can be used for 2.5” portable hard disks, tablet PCs, Netbooks or other accessories. The multi-clip design makes it very easy for users to install it, just place and clip. Soft pads inside the clips further secure the router or devices as well as preventing it from sliding. Dr. Cool can powered by either USB or a DC power transformer, which makes very convenient for users.

As its name suggests, Dr. Cool has multiple functions and just like a Doctor has extensive knowledge in the cooling field. The reasonable price gives it a very good cost/performance value. Maybe this would help with some of those wireless routers that crash/drop connections frequently... but I wouldn't want to pay very much for this. I guess it's a legitimate product... I can think of other methods to cool routers, but this one doesn't void any warranties. I hope they don't plan on charging any more than $20 for it.

As much as I would like to diss this product as snake oil, I can't, because modded routers are bloody hot. Extra points if its cheap and works well, because the "strap on 12cm fan" technique is very effective and cheap.

Ehh, you linked us to laptop cooling pads, this is router cooler. router cooler is probably 7", laptop cooler goes all the way up to 17" or more. Completely different products, but with same purpose.

I know I did. I've used those pads for my ps3, xbox, xbox360, my router, my macbook pro, my moms dell etc.

I've never had a router that got so hot it crashed..lol.. not like it's running an i7 on a stock cooler or something.. XD

Most home routers start to get a bit warm when you run 15+ device on them simultaneously. I had to move to using a separate router as a wireless AP to handle the wireless devices, as my DIR-655 kept locking up from heat with the wireless turned on.

I should really move to using my server for routing as well.

And it didn't cost me a dime. Just common rubber feet you can find in various things. I've had it like this for a long time. Works very well, neither the HDD and the router get too hot. I meant to take these pictures the day the news came out, but I was missing the camera.

Wow, very nice. It's a good solution, but mine already had enough holes. Just not enough ventilation space. Plus, with a HDD beneath it, it was starting to get to much heat in one place.
