Help me shop for gaming mouse
So I think it's time that I upgrade from this standard two button mouse. I've had this thing since 06 and think this gamer needs a more suitable mouse.
![]() So to start off I am not looking into the insane price ranges of $70-$150... I mean come on. It's just a mouse I am purchasing, not a new sound system. xD No need to pay that much of an outrageous price for a mouse. Now to be honest I really don't know my mice out there especially when it comes to gaming mice. The only two manufacturers I know who make gaming mice are Logitech and Razer. Now first off, don't recommend anything Razer to me. In my opinion, everything they sell is way overpriced. Heck, their standard 2 button mice are like $50 and the only thing they do is illuminate.. -_- So I was looking at the Logitech 518 and to be honest it looks decent to be suited for gaming. I just wish it had a few more buttons on the side I can customize. Good price though. That's something I need to mention. I would really like a gaming mouse where it has more than two buttons on the side to customize. I play MMO's so macros can be more useful on the mouse than keyboard. Again however, please do not recommend Razer with their insane mice. LOLThank you all for the help! ^_^ |

If you liked the look and size of the 518, check out the G500. I use one myself and am very happy with it.

first of all, the number of buttons on a mouse has nothing to do with it's performance or it's status as a "gaming mouse". second, while razer is overprices, so are all the other manufacturers, and the only thing I would take over a razer is a RAT series.
things you need to look for are size (or adjust-ability there of), DPI, software/driver support, and finally, looks and button configuration. if all you care about is buttons, go for a cheap laser mouse with side buttons. otherwise, brand recommendations - razer (weather you like them or not) Logitech, mad catz (RAT series) or the steel series (don't remember the brand). |

You can't really go wrong with either the MX518 (budget gamer's favourite) or the G500 (which is a step above the MX518 in both performance and price). I use Microsoft Sidewinder X5, and for a long time I was happy with this big mouse (yes, its very big). The 2000dpi max is starting to bug me though, I think I have "outgrown" this mouse. Other recommendations are the Steelseries mice, but I think that is a bit pricey.

I tried that mouse, and I thought it was to flat, and to small for my hands. The feedback and weight was pretty awesome though, I just wish it was a bit bigger.

I think you should see if you can try before buy, or if not satisfied - return or replace.
It is a big question to ask "what mouse", we all have different tastes, hands and likings. Just a thought.. |

I've been gaming on an MX 518 for probably 5 years now (no mouse pad). It hasn't died and has probably seen close to 30,000 hours worth of use. I couldn't be happier with it. It is thee best optical mouse ever made and that's why they still sell them so many years later.

I have three MX518 mice, the oldest one is about three years old and is what I use on my university computer because its so comfortable, the other two are for gaming on my rigs. The MX518 is rugged, reliable and (at least here) very inexpensive. I cannot comment on the more expensive mice, since I have no owned any, but the MX518 is definitely all I need in a mouse, and at a good price.

I've got a G9x, and I love it. Very comfortable, I have big hands so it suits me well.
I had a Deathadder previously but they're REALLY cheap and the mouse wheels will go on you randomly forcing you to replace the entire mouse. I wouldn't recommend Razr, ever, honestly. They make cheap products. I've always been satisfied with Logitech. Looking around my computer desk everything I own is Logitech.. my speakers/Subwoofer, G15 keyboard, G9x mouse et cetera. I had an mx500 for years before I got the G9x recently. |

http://usa.ttesports.com/products/product.aspx?s=2 Tt Black Gaming Mouse. I went with this to replace a failing G5, and have kept using it even after i got a G5 RMA'ed to me. Very pleased with the software and fine tuning of DPI and it comes at a decent price too
![]() or this http://usa.ttesports.com/products/pr...g=feature&s=17 Tt Black Element. These are my recommendations for Tt mice as others have already chimed in on other companies products.

Since 8 months now I use the Sidewinder X8, wireless. It is a great mouse, I paid lots of money for it, here in Europe. But look here:

Someone here once recommended a mouse to me that was really huge. Sadly they only sold it in Hong Kong or something like that. I wish I could remember the name of it. |
