What do you think about this watercooling setup?
Hello everyone. Am about to make my Phantom watercooled, so am gonna post the items and tell me what you think.
Watercool HeatKiller Rev3 CPU Waterblock Intel 1366 : Black Chrome Alphacool VPP655 / Laing D5 with D5 High Flow Acetal Top : VPP655D5 Swiftech MCR220-QP-K Dual 120mm Phobya Balancer 250 Reservoir Black Nickel Tygon R3603 1/2" ID - 5/8" OD (13-16mm) Tubing : Clear and some 45 / 90 degree fittings and some normal ones of size :1/4" Thread Compression Fitting for 1/2" ID - 5/8" OD (13-16mm) Tubing : Black I dont want to go for the bigger tube size. i think this one will be enough. After i view a video on fittings am a little skeptical. this fittings will fit without any problem for that tube right? Dont want them to almost fit but not exactly What do you think? |

As it looks good and all . It would be best to provide us links to the stuff , This way it would be some what easier for "us" to make a call .

I say its a sweet collection of parts. And the tubing should fit on the fittings no problem. Just be sure to cut the tubing straight, and not angled. If you cut them at an angle, this is where the danger lies, and I lost my 5850 because of this mistake.
But if you're only halfway careful you do not need to worry.

Nice list. I'd spend the extra $15 for a thicker rad than the swiftech, though. A fat dual 120 can accomodate more components added to the loop farther down the line, and will usually give better temps. Also, the fatter rads are designed for slower speed fans, so less noise.

I cant get a thicker radiator am afraid. NZXT didnt think very well the cooling part of the Phantom case. so thats the thickest i can go.
Also here are the parts with links: http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...roductid=13115 http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...roductid=11385 http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...roductid=11724 http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...roductid=11971 http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop/...roductid=11356 |

Ever consider an xspc d5 dual bay res? Would save you some space and can also make things neat..

a single d5 would suffice for that a plenty blocks imo. Had a setup before with mosfets, NB, SB, CPU and GPU in the loop with a single d5 and was still moving water significantly. EK blocks btw.. good flow and not too restrictive. But thats just me, dont let that stop you from getting more pumps though
