I did it a few times already. Rangermode Hardcore is hell of a fun. BTW, did you finish it with the default or alternative ending? The alternative ending is aquireable by getting the Enlightened achievement.

When doing good things, you will see a flash and a weird sound. Playing the guitars in the game (e.g. at Artyom's room) trigger that too, as well as listening to conversations between Nazis and Communists.
Most importantly, regard Artyom's visions as a means of the Homo Novice to "contact" him and therefore you should let Artyom move towards them. However this does of course not apply to "Ethereal" (that last level which is one big vision), because approaching the Homo Novice in that case will cause Artyom's death.
If you took the required actions during the visions and have a certain amount of "flashes" (shouldn't need to be that many if I am right), you will get a chance to acquire the achievement. Once that ranger gives you a revolver, shoot calmly at the then approaching Homo Novice, shooting once to stop his movement and then a second time to bring him down. Do not empty the entire bullet chamber at once, as simply filling him with lead will definitely kill him immediately. The vision should end now, with the Homo Novice being at the top of the tower trying to reach the aiming device. Now empty the bullet chamber on the missile aiming device, to make sure that the leftover bullets in the revolver will topple the it from the tower.

P.S.: if you don't get the chance to topple the aiming device from the tower (getting the standard ending immediately after the vision), I suggest to choose for "Load game" and go a couple of chapters back to repeat the steps above ("Market" is a good point to start from, I think, if you don't want to go through the whole game again).

Just picked up Metro 2033, hoping to finish it before the 2nd one gets released. I don't know how I missed this interesting FPS style game. Wouldn't Metro 2034 sound better?

Its a pretty good game. Would have liked it more if it were a bit more genre mixed. It's a FPS with a touch of RPG element in it. IMO, would've been cooler if it was a bit more genre-crossing...ie. FPS/RPG and maybe a little RTS added to boot?

The speculated title was 2034, but honestly I think Last Light sounds better. It makes you believe that it is a proper sequel, and I hope that is what it is. The last thing we need 5 more Metro games...I'm looking at you COD. I forgot about it after MW1.

i really liked first metro, others wernt so receptive,i sorta cant wait for 2,

its different to generic run and gun shooters and graphics were great, another on the list of to gets,

metro was a great game in my op,remember the gas canisters and the norsalis smashing them off your face, lol, then choking, haha.

one game i really wish had a sequel is chronicles of riddick, one of the best games ever.
