Bulldozer postponed?

Quote:
Previous reports have suggested that the Bulldozer announcement that is scheduled to take place on June 11 will be quickly followed by retail availability (June 20-24), but the recent report comes to dismiss these claims.

I'm calling b.s. but who knows? I guess we'll find out shortly.

Who knows? AMD's track record with bulldozer isnt what you'd call good.
Hopefully it isn't true because it will hurt AMD if they have to compete with the Sandybridge E's.

Their source is a little shaky. I hope this isn't the case, I really want to see what Bulldozer can do :x

That article there is one of the reason's I called b.s. in the first place. Thanks for posting it again though.

I just wish computex would hurry up and get here.

Is it just me or is this month taking longer than any month since I was 5.

Wait so since Bulldozer is AM3+, does this mean it will not be compatible with my AM3 board? Or BIO update required?

From what I saw so far, Bulldozer will require AM3+ socket so no, BIOS update will probably not be enough.

Not many boards will be compatible due to design issues, but if your board is compatible, it will require a BIOS update.

It depends on who you ask. AMD's official stance is AM3+ only.

If that's the case and if the performance is truly record breaking for AMD, I'll wait maybe 2-3 months before buying both an AM3+ board and Bulldozer.

But we'll see...

I don't have an AM3+ socket on my board yet I have a bios update available for Bulldozer. So, no. AM3+ isn't a requirement yet.

AMD has lots of production and design facilitys in the UK ? Sounds like the romour mill is going strong, its fud unless I see a post from JFAMD or one of the other Validated AMD reps stating otherwise.

Well we supply OEM parts, and we have had ZERO information from AMD regarding ordering, pricing even any real details on the chips...etc, bearing in mind we are not far from going on sale if the deadline is true, its not given us any opportunity to market it, pre sell items.

When Sandy Bridge was due to be released, we had pricing structures, samples, even full rigs running well over a month before the release of SB, giving us time to pre order chips so we had them on release day, set up all the items on the website for sale.

Also heard from one of the big boys at ASUS its not going to be on time.

But, I am an AMD fanboy so i hope it does make the launch date - Its also not the rumour mill, its not based on guesses, its based on pure fact that FUCK ALL has happened to do with bulldozer, and it is more or less impossible for them to release the required info to help the people who will be selling the chips when they release them, basic economics, nothing else.

OEM's based in the UK ? who ? Certainly not dell. their production is in china along with everyother pc builder.

I think your drawing false conclusions.

So don;t go spreading romours becuase you don't have parts, the UK is a small market globally speaking.

Your either 12 years old or naive, but as i said, it could just be a global masterplan by AMD to release no chips, information, pricing stucture, real details, a few weeks before launch to suprise everyone.

I am not the one starting rumours on the internet about a large coporation.Until I see a official announcement from a crediable AMD rep, your speculating based on nothing. again the UK market isn't very big, its not surprising they aren't worried about getting you info. I talked to several high ups at microcenter, they don't know anything either.

So stop with the fud already.

Heres a good one then

http://www.overclock.net/hardware-ne...-2011-a-2.html

Im not spreading rumours, they dont even have it on the event list for computex, hell even e3 only states that the FX branding and logo will be officially released, but enough on the matter, as said we shall see.

He's not starting/spreading rumors. All he stated that he's heard something similar to the OP's post. Followed up by " we shall see"

It's not like he stated " Oh yes guys, It's official. Bulldozer will be delayed. Sorry for the bad news".

Quit trying to start problems. Quit being that guy.

I see what you did there, clever - But yes, your right, just heard the same thing as the OP, cannot call it fact, can only go on what I know we dont have as a company (which ive been at for 5 years, and EVERY other time a processor is released, weve known about it, including relevant details a lot longer than 1 month before hand).

In order to get to the bottom of this story, we have contacted Mr. Drew Prairie and Mr. Steve Howard, AMD's PR representatives close to heart of the matter. We inquired about the statement Rick Bergman made and received the following answer:

"Our public roadmap has not changed."

yes but beta and it says in the download page only for am3+ cpu`s do not install on am3 cpu`s.....also if you go to gigabyte download for ud5 ver3.1 and ver 3.0 they are the same FD bios...I do not think they will postpone BD to be honest here is a pic from ASrock`s Deluxe 5 (AM3+ socket update to the 4)Look at the cpu ridge where it is labeled by me in PSP9...And you can download the manual your selfs just in case i get fake trolled........could be the first known pic of BD.....that ridge is no where on Thuban or phenom .
