NVIDIA GeForce 275.33 WHQL Software Suite Released

Amidst all the Computex fanfare, NVIDIA released its rather silent update to the GeForce software suite, with GeForce 275.33 WHQL. The driver includes all the updates of GeForce 275.27 BETA. A performance-drop issue found on The Witcher 2 played on 275.27 BETA, was fixed. Aside from that, a number of performance improvements are carried forward from 275.27 BETA, and released in the WHQL-signed 275.33. These are specific to GeForce GTX 580 and GTX 560, and provide performance improvements by as much as 15% in some cases.

I am kinda temp to put back my 9800gt with the recent releases of the drivers which seem to be getting the best feedback since the 265.90's Quadros. But i will just wait until i buy the GTX 550.

Why are the improvements specific to the GTX580 and 560? I'd assume that cards in and around those should also benefit, why wouldnt they?

Everytime there is a new gen of GPU they always advertise improvements for those specific GPUs. Many times there is improvements for past gens, sometimes listed, sometimes not. I notice them as sort of an afterthought. "Btw, improvements for these also."

I kinda see it as a marketing tactic. Show that people need to buy new to get the improvements. Similar to their linking Duke Nukem to the 560. Like it can only run good on that yet I run it max everything on my 460 just fine.

Also because new GPUs don't get the best launch drivers. They need time to mature.

But why limit the improvment to the 580 and 560. How does this new driver affect my 570?
