Asrock P67 clubhouse
No clubhouse? Knowing that these boards are the real deal for conscious enthusiasts, AND that I am buying one (LOL), the lack of a clubhouse in TPU is strange and ... very strange! 8)
Why not open a clubhouse? For the Extreme4, Extreme6, Fatal1ty Professional, and Pro3 users? Or are there other rooms where you get your good oil?

@LAN defr HA.... ok ok, but it's wheel to wheel with the Asrocks
![]() I am researching because monday or tuesday my kit arrives (Extreme6+2500K). I am copying info about settings from some really cool sites and will post them when I arrive at a conclusion. So far, looks like most people are superhappy, some have issues with the mixture of sata2 + 3, and high end mouses in the EFI bios. And autooverclock is good, but overvolts (nothing new to p.e. Asus users ![]() I think a club must be opened in the 'clubs' subforum not in the motherboards section... So if moderators allow...

So far a couple of brother forums dedicated to the board:
English: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/sho...php?t=18233075 Some nice info!! http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...owners-welcome Another 50 plus pages to read... German: http://www.hardwareluxx.de/community...e6-788318.html More problem focused, not much positive information, but promises if they get to the level of other 'luxx threads!

Ok this morning I got my Extreme6!!!
Quick thoughts: 1) Manuals are excellent for Asian authorship. Much more care of details and customer than in Asus or Gigabyte manuals. They actually explain some of the technology. But there also quite a lot of absolute 'rise-boiling' nonsense (Friends from the Far East, forgive me! I will come back with examples. Today it was a race against the clock installing because I have work and tax forms waiting...2) Hardware installation and boot up: excellent. There is more room between the Noctua C14 and my massive RAM. Instead of 2 rows (Asus P7P55D Pro), it obstructs only 1 row. I managed to install my HDTV PCIE-1 card in the first slot, after eliminating the metal top cover of the chipset headsink and bending some of its fins. The Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Ti PCI-E card also fits, but is higher and touched my Noctua, otherwise it would have fit better. Fan connectors: 6. Plenty. 2 for the CPU: 1x 4 pin 1x 3 pin! This is the famous Asrock hybrid philosophy. Starting to love it. 3) EUFI BIOS: sweet but my RAT7 Cyborg mouse is useless. Just used keyboard like in good old days of Bacchus and Buddha. Left most at default and booted into the same Windows 7 x64 installation. Dirty but faultless.... Windows itself disabled some old ASUS 'apps' (spell 'applications') so no error messages at all! BUT: the old Asus AI-stuff is still there (forgot to uninstall beforehand) as not running services. And I cannot uninstall them! Any help is appreciated. I remember in the past it was a mess difficult to fully uninstall.

Installation CD:
Not so good. There are several 'tabs', one for drivers, one for utilities, one for manuals, one for extra software. Well, if you click on Install All on the drivers tab, thinking that it will install 'all drivers'.... NO! It will install FAK ALL EVERYTHING of the CD: that included Acrobad (I already have it!), Norton Antivirus Demo (I do NOT want it!!!), and some games and bull..... What a waste of time... ... no no...!

Instant Boot: doesn't seem to work for me. Windows boots fast with or without but nowhere near the 4 seconds they advertise.
BIOS profiles: apparently limited to 3, but in Windows, using the AXTU software you can save unlimited profiles, and boot them. Overclocking: Have done auto overclocking: 4000, 4200, 4400, 4600, 4800 all work. But using high voltage (1,39 for 4800 mhz) when changing core voltage for 4800 to 1,25 v it crashes. gotta test more

ah, then we have Instant Boot, again, tried it again, nothing happens, so I uninstalled it, together with USB boost whatever, as I do not have or use high speed usb3 thingies, yet...

Hi all !! Welcome to the clubhouse!!!
Power Profiles: I just discovered that now I have a AXTU Profile and an Instant Boot profile. I have to fine tune suspend modes, as some of them lock the pc... CPU Throttling : Overclocked at 4400, it stays most of the time idling at 1600mhz during normal windows use, including videos...

I am a bit confused, whatever mode I choose, or I get lockups during tests or games, or i get hard locks during pc suspension...
In Bios (UEFI) too many options I am unfamiliar with... Why don't we start uniting forces and start settling the good and bad options?

I'll take a break to test my latest setup, gaming and stressing the computer (I don't like to spend more than 5 minutes burning/benchmarking; I prefer real world tests!
![]() FYI, I have deactivated certain options in the bios, pardon!, UEFI, and for now it has been soooo stable....

I have had this running for 80 minutes now, at 4400 Mhz, everything auto and all the energy smart functions ON, RAM at 1600 per specs, CPU at 1,35 volt. Temps are 55C. Did this having Aida64 stress test running, plus internet TV running, plus Media player playing music during 80 min (plus half a dozen other programs open...)
Seems ok so far... Fans at max, gonna restart to lower them to 50% or so.

adding more info:
the 100 Mhz "FSB" is underclock by factory. Aida64 reports it is indeed .02 lower, which makes again my RAM and CPU running lower that the specced values of 800(1600), in case of the RAM at 798! Just tested USB3 with a USB3 WD PAssport drive: averages 27 MB/sec.

LOW MMIO ALIGN
64 / 1024 MB Well mine have been always at default at 64, Win7 64bit recognizes my 8 GB of RAM... but I found this on xtreme forums: Dear Customer, by default memory addressing is optimized for 64 Bit operating systems, resulting in less available memory for a 32 Bit operating system, with Low MMIO Align you can set it for optimized settings for a 32 Bit operating system. For a 64 bit operating it should be set to 1024 Kind regards, ASRock Support Geez.... they have no clue in Taiwan

i think i found a sweet spot at 4200 mhz. so far only issue is usb suspension (keyboard and mouse do not wake it up).
Voltage: 1,28 fixed Temps are 38 C Just played BC2 and the processor is only at 62% load! (everything is set to the max). I think I am BF3-proof. : )

USB 3 Etron driver
- Version 0.9: It does recognize my Nokia N8, load it, but Ovi will not see it. Might be Etron or Ovi... - Found a driver version 1.01 here: http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList...etron_usb3.exe It installs fine.
