Why is IPS better then traditional monitors? Do they have 120hz IPS?

In the world of monitors refurbished is usually better actually. It means they checked it already for uniformity and dead/ stuck pixels. That plus they are offering the warranty still means its a good offer. That monitor is one of the best 24 inch displays around. Having better color, contrast, and response times than most other monitors. The one downside they had was samsungs new response time method like i said caused massive input lag. BUT being refurbed straight from dell means it probably has rev A02 on it. Meaning the input lag wont be any worse than 30ms(maybe 40ms according to prad.de? Kinda hard to find concrete info on the separate revs). EDIT: Also gamma shift, but honestly I prefer it over the various glows that IPS panels have.

Id get it in a heart beat if I didnt already have a new monitor...

Surprise, its available for good price at WALMART!? Crazy. I guess you could have it shipped to the store and if anything is wrong with it then return it. Be sure to check the return policy. In general for monitors you do not want to buy them from places that have a AS IS or replace only policy on electronics. This means dont buy monitors from Newegg. Tigerdirect and Amazon are good choices, but make sure its DIRECT from Amazon and not a merchant.

ouch but site to store takes several days doesn't it? I don't want a monitor to be in shipping for that long... more of a chance of it breaking.

I have yet to have an issue with monitor damage in shipping. They usually pack them pretty well and like I said you can always return it. My HP laptop was dented, but thats not a monitor.

It's all fun and games, until you see an 27" IPS display in person.

If I were you, I would have bought LG's IPS monitor. IPS236v has a quite good reputation.

I have the HPZR24W and its an excellent monitor if its in your budget.

Secondly I would never use a TV over a monitor when hooked up to a computer.

Thirdly I don't know what type of tv's you guys buy but my 46inch Samsung LCD has an IPS panel in it.

And yes my HP monitor blows it out of the water for image quality when I have tried using the computer on both screens. However for the Tv's intended purpose its great and image quality is fine I am sitting 8-10 feet from the Tv after all.
