DELL 435MT Installing in NEW HAF 912 Gaming Case HELP!
I am trying to change cases mainly because I just got a new MSI GTX 560 Ti Hawk and it's too big for my DELL 435MT XPS Studio Case, there's no room under the video card for airflow. I tried to put everything in the new HAF 912 case I bought and there is no power, the most I have gotten was a red led light on the front turning on. I am pretty sure it has to do with the front panel or FP1 connections to the DELL 435MT motherboard cause on the DELL 435MT Front Panel connections were all connected and in the HAF 912 case they are separated into HDD LED + and -, Power Switch, Reset Switch and Power LED + and -. There is no diagram online to map it out.
Can someone help me with these connections? I just don't know which goes where from the HAF 912 case to my DELL 435MT X58 motherboard. Here is the DELL 435MT Motherboard: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=DELL+...38&tx=33&ty=93 |

Sucks that things like this are not standardized.
I would think you can get by with just the power and reset buttons connected, but Dell may be finicky about having certain connections to power on. From my experience, usually the power and reset switch headers are here: ....._ ...... power being on top and reset underneath. Positive/negative shouldn't be much of a problem, just will change how the buttons work.

This is what DELL gave me as the FP1 connections starting from TOP left to right:
top: Power LED -, Power LED +, Power SW +, Power SW - bottom: HDD LED +, HDD LED -, RESET White, RESET Blue, UNUSED Hopefully this configuration will work. Is there anything else I should test, and is it essential to screw the motherboard into the gold sit in screws on the case where the motherboard sits? In the DELL Xps Black Case, they aren't used actually. |

The gold spacers are needed. The dell case will not need them as the case had pressed motherboard spacers. Without the spacers you will short the motherboard and probably kill your pc. Most aftermarket cases need the spacers. Use the ones supplied with the case, as they will be the correct height for the motherboard to sit at. Sometimes cases need a slightly longer spacer and fitting standard ones makes your pci cards not sit correctly.

Forget it
I am just going to purchase a brand new motherboard and then I will be able to overclock my i7 920 as well as get it in the new haf 912 case and my video card will be super cool in it too. If you guys want recommend me a nice x58 gaming case that stays cool. Thanks
