System Specs

2600K, P67, RAM, Cooler + Fans

Looking for parts to build my next cruncher.

Requirements:
  • Intel i7 2600K - Retail or OEM
  • P67 Motherboard - Asus or Gigabyte preferably
  • 4GB+ DDR3 RAM - 1.5v (don't care about speed, just cheap and stable)
  • Air cooler - Only interested in the high end stuff (Maximum cooling, minimal noise) like Megahalems and D14, Silver Arrow..
  • Power Supply - 500W+ MUST be Gold or Platinum rating
  • Graphics card - Passive only, the cheaper the better!
  • HDD - Anything with a SATA port and 10GB+, cheaper the better! (Preference for WD Blue)
  • Fans - Akasa Apache or Coolermaster Blade Master (these I am picky about so please don't offer others)

Heatware in sig. Thanks for looking.

He wants it to be cruncher, low end GPU is enough since it's all CPU work

Not sure on the Frio, performance is great but it is also relatively loud which doesn't fit my requirements.

Don't mind BIOS or UEFI, got UD4 and 3 other asus boards and they're all just as easy to OC and keep stable.

You forget the main difference, one is used for crunching numbers than can lead to cures to disease Nothing passive about 100% load 24/7 365 days a year.

I'll need to check some reviews first and let you know if it's any good for me.

Updated OP, I've had an unexpectedly good offer on a CPU cooler.

Just the main components needed, will leave the WTB thread open for a few more days for them.

BNIB Asus P8P67 Pro Motherboard if you're interested, have just recently had it come back from RMA, well a B2 replacement, so this is the B3 revision board.

Unused, so everything is still as from Asus.

Would be looking at £90 inc. of delivery with payment by Paypal.

Also have a Scythe Shuriken CPU Cooler, unboxed, with all fittings - would do it for £20 inc. of delivery, payment again by Paypal.

Also have a Corsair H50 CPU Cooler, boxed and complete, could do it for £38 inc. of delivery with payment by Paypal.

Thanks.

Thanks, but that tells me it's from the US, which from past experience is always trickier than EU (not your fault but British customs )

Will PM you back this evening, BTW, the CPU you're after, hope you find one soon, I've one LOL (I'm not selling it though), can't fault it for my needs, was even contemplating downgrading to a Core i5 2500k a few weeks ago, have decided against it since!

All the best with your search.

BTW, if you're still after HDD's, I've 2 WD Black 640Gb ones, would do them both for £47 inc. of delivery, payment by PPG or one for £25 inc. of delivery.

Thanks.
