How Many Games Have You Purchased Through Steam?
I thought it would be interesting to see how much TPU Gamers use Steam for their digital game distribution.
Feel free to leave comments on how many non-Steam (retail, other distribution method) if you would like.

I am not a big fan of Steam, I think I have 5 or 6 games I play with them.

Around 45 on steam i tend to get them from were is cheaper which is not always steam and for those special type games like the whicher\NWN\ARMA i just get hard copys of them.
But times have kinda changed and see me getting even more of D2D and Steam games only when there is a special offer going as it's sad to say the quality of games today is lacking to say the least. |

42 in total, a number that I expect to rise in ther future. I really like Steam's ease of use and automatic updates system. That and the prices are usually good. I've bought games on sale on Steam for a fraction of what I could have bought them for in-store.

In the short time I been using Steam I have racked up a good number of games....
![]() I don't really use any other form of purchase, last boxed game I bought was DNF CE and that goes right onto Steam, before that... maybe Fallout 3?

All my PC games are on Steam, no point in going out to a retail store with Steam around.

I forbid Steam from being on my computer.
The main reasons why i refuse to play Steam based games is because i lost access to an email account linked to a few games i paid for back in the day. Steam could not help and thus i lost hundreds of dollars worth of titles over a simple email account issue. Maybe it was my fault, maybe it wasnt, either way, i prefer to actually own the media. That reason alone kinda sucks, so i thought that i should add that every First Person Shooter i have played (except the latest Call Of Duty) has a filty Playstation style Multiplayer experience, which is fantastic if you own a Playstation. No dedicated servers means i dont play that game online. Oh, and im not much of a community fan when it comes to online gaming, probably something to do with my age and my misunderstanding of why game hackers can't (won't) be stopped. This day and age, i cant really complain about the resources that Steam takes up due to an overkill in system memory/processing power etc, but i don't see the point in having to go thru Steam to play a game. Since i don't play Steam based games online, ill rather play Single Player, the non-steam version. Returning F.E.A.R 2 and F.E.A.R 3 was the best thing i have ever done in regards to online gaming. |

usually your steam account gets hacked because of your email account then usually both are sold to someone on a hack forum and your passwords are changed, have better passwords man. |

Interesting poll results so far. I expected the most to be in the 50-75 range, but that is the lowest percentage at the moment.

109. But my Steam Community Profile says 134? I have had this account since 2005 so it has been filling up for years.
