PNY Intros Hook Attaché USB Flash Drive
PNY Europe introduced its latest flash drive, the Hook Attaché. This cap-less flash drive features a metal hook with which it can be attached to pretty-much anything it can get itself around. The aluminum body of the drive extends into the USB connector. Measuring 43.5 x 18.5 x 4 mm, the drive weighs in at just 4 g. The Hook Attaché uses USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface, with transfer speeds of up to 25 MB/s read and 8 MB/s write. It is available in capacities of 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB; priced at 18.99€, 28.99€, and 59.99€, respectively.

why fail when only a small % of consumers have usb3?
even after 5-10 years usb2 will be present with a considerable % of the market

Because USB3 offerings cost about the same and typically offer better performance even on USB2 (for example the Patriot Supersonic USB3 32GB which costs around 60 EUR as well). This is because the controller and flash used can actually max out the USB2 transfer rate, which this thing isn't even close to on its write speeds. I bought a no-name 32GB stick at microcenter a year ago which performs about the same as this one and it cost *less*. This is why this is a fail product.

I read the title as Hooker Attaché. lol
And I agree with Yukikaze. This being USB2 is fail. I don't have any USB 3 ports, but my Patriot USB flash drives are still way faster than all the other USB2 offerings.

even if it is only USB 2, the thing is the speeds are 25/8 instead of 25/20 or 30/20 or at least 25/15. It is just too slow. Especially at that price, you expect a little bit of speed, as others have pointed out, USB 3 drives are a much better buy, considering that everyone will have USB 3 later, you can call it futureproofing s well
