That's only if they put a disk in the box; they may just use a digital distribution code/serial, you would have to install origin and download the game; that's how I ended up with Steam. I went to my local store and bought a retail box only to find out once I opened it; the only content was a slip of paper with a code for the game and instructions on how to download steam.

If that's the case then i would return the game ... even if steam is required which i fear for RAGE - i still want the DVDs !

That's how BF DLC was sold - kind of crappy they saved money with those DVDs ... but yeah RAGE will get several gigabytes of free patches or DLC as Carmack said so ... But that is not EA ... that's Bethesda

]but yea to each there own, years ago i loved having the Disc's now i just prefer steam, having moved a few times, and losing discs or there just geting to scratched to use, steam offers the security of if i fuck up and use the disc as a coaster, I can still game on a side note ive actually done that, i used, my old Settlers Heritage of Kings disc as a coaster for my drink, i thought it was a red TDK blank cd... boy was i mistaken.
