Opinions on how to over clock my i7 950

I've been reading around and I'm farely new to benchmarking so I need some expert advice.
I have a Corsair h100 cooler so I was hoping to reach 4.0+ stable but every site tells me different vcore, dram voltages, bclk, multipliers, etc. So I'm posting on this site because from what I've seen you're the best advice on the internet when it comes to overclocking. So, a couple of ?'s.

Best "stable" oc for daily gaming?

Best ratio for cpu freq while trying to get to 1600mhz mem and reach 4.0+?

Optimum voltages (approx, I understand every chip is different).

Miscellaneous bios setting (turbo, PCEI Freq, etc) enable or disabled.

Other tips and tricks to overclocking (best software stress test, monitering programs, etc) I use evga e-leet and precision.

The reason every site tells you different values for vcore etc. etc. is because it really depends on your particular CPU + motherboard. If you're hoping to find values to just plug in, not only are you out of luck, but you're also taking away all the fun out of OC'ing.

Find a good guide that tells you how to overclock the Core i7 family, and go from there. It will involve numerous reboots, BSODs and fine tunings of voltages in the BIOS.

For changing values itself, do not use any software. Do it directly from the BIOS.

For stress testing the processor, either P95 or IntelBurnTest (IBT) is good. If you can run either of them for a solid hour or two without a BSOD, you have a potentially stable OC. To be entirely sure, it is best to run P95 overnight. I say this from personal experience. My i7 2600K at 4.8Ghz was stable for upto 4-6 hours of folding/P95, but when I left it overnight, it BSODed. Reducing it to 4.7Ghz made it rock solid stable for me.

As for approximate values, unfortunately I can't help you with that. Its been too long since I oc'ed the i7 920. Hopefully someone else can come along and help you with that.

I've been testing different setups for my rig and I need some feedback on improvements/mistakes. I ran intel burn test and past with these settings and my cpu temp never went over 60c (idle 28c). I know I can probably improve my setting so if you have any advice please post.

I'm going to slowly try to lower my Vcore voltage and find a lower stable setting. Was doing research about Vdroop and I still don't know what to set it at.

One thing I would absolutely do is manually set the IMC or uncore frequency of your CPU.

On your motherboard its labeled "cpu uncore frequency"

set that to say a nice healthy 3600Mhz OC and again test for stability. If it is not stable Bump your QPI/VTT voltage a little and test again.
