System Specs

ddr3 1600 cl 8 or ddr3 1333 cl6

Which is better for my amd cpu.. my ddr3 that i bought sux for oc'ing so i'm kinda limited to these general settings.. looking for gaming/crossfire performance?

my bad.. i should update that, i no longer have that memory.. it died... lol, no i have ocz hpc reaper ddr3 1600 7,8,8,21 or whatnot.. it doesn't overclock much at all.. does on intel apparently, just not me lol

anybody have any ideas as to what i can do to maybe clock it higher..

Latency! Look at tightening up the timings a touch.

yep agree. take the lowest cl it may help your performance better

if you arent OCing the ram, the 1333.

if you are OCing the ram, then the 1600. gives you more FSB room.



that said, the performance difference will be minimal. for 1600 (even at CL6 if its magically possible) you'll still need to OC your northbridge/mem controller to benefit. I needed 2.6GHz NB to make 1600 C7 show any real improvements over 1333 CL7
