I find CrystalMark isnt always 100% accurate for benching SSDs'
I always prefer ATTO and my benches are faster then the review for the 128Gb Crucial M4. I get at least 520-530mb/s (maybe more) read tops

Can't wait to get my Corsair Force Series 3 180GB SSD. Question, should I install Win 7 x64 on it or just use it as a pure gaming drive. I plan on putting my STEAM folder along with other game folders on this drive.

Install Win7 on it, I have tried many ways to get the best out of an SSD and installing your OS to it is one of the most profiting things you could do
 Games loading times aren't going to benefit THAT much from it apart from a few games, this is probably because I used a 10k RPM HDD for them, if you were using a 7,2k you should see a good amount of time saved on loading  What you'll really feel different is your OS that gets quick and snappy, no more waiting times and such. |

I just installed my SSD (Sata3, super fast) the other day.
YES: everything is "crispier" NO: "best upgrade in 30 years evar" as many here state. REALLY: Nothing worth to tell. Everything is as ordinary, as before. Maybe because my kit is already fuckin'4400 Mhz fast. But for sure the Samsung 830 looks like a piece of jewelry : ) Just to let you know. |
