Gtx560 ti hawk issue

I just got a used gtx 560 ti hawk on ebay. I used nvidia 280.26 and msi afterburn, but when I set the fan speed to 100%, it doesn't sound anything; i saw the fan rpm doesn't increase at all. I also tried downgrade to another driver, but the problem still persist. is this hardware or software issue? the card hit 100 when full load within 1 minute cause me can't do anything with it.

Made sure that Auto& User defined still wasn't enabled? Just curious as to why you want to set it at 100% at all times.

gtx 560 ti hawk

i set it to 100 because it want to check does the fan will spin up or not. actually, it is not. don't know the graphic card issue or software. the fan rpm just stays around 1100-1200 even i set to 100 or 40 fan speed.

That's what it looks like with a manual fan speed set. Try EVGA precision and see if that will allow what you want to do.

Like the other thread, I don't think I can unlock fan speed control. Raise minimum fan speed at best.

Not difficult but yet I take no responsibility if you kill the card. Also I wouldn't rma it just for that. They are designed in a fashion that they have a high tolerance for temps. You could rma the card and then the return ship card could just be a dud spanning you even longer without a new card.

Wait a moment, sounds as though you are mad at me. Don't be mad, I am only trying to help you. Yes, over 100C is abnormal for that card unless you have poor airflow in your pc's case. Is that with the side panel on or off? What are you using to obtain such a load on the card? I suggest getting HW Monitor to get a max reading from the temp diode on the card also.

im not mat at u my man. i used msi afterburn to check the temp when Im in crysis 2, bc2, and others, and I see just about 1 minutes, the temp hit 100. my case is tiny, hp pavilion oem case, but when i open the side panel, the same thing happens. i think the cooling fan must do harder to reduce the heat, but it runs too slow, its max rpm- seller told me is 4250, and mine is 1100 even it was set at 100 fan speed. seller said he had no problem with the card, the fan automatically speed up. I don't believe him, he sold it with 200 and said he need money for this semester. i would rather buy a new one than this. now im stuck. i tried to contact ebay for full refund, but it takes 72 hours to process. don't know that i can get money back or not. amazon is better. def can get money back from seller. have not tried with ebay before.

Try this tool out before you go further and I would do an RMA before requesting cash back. RMA is a little bit easier and quicker to obtain than an ebay refund especially from a seller who sold the card because they needed money.

Sorry can't really help you further other than short of raising the minimum fan speed.

I know this is kinda late, but I got fooled by Afterburner with this .. If you set it up for user defined rpms nothing will happen until you actually press "apply" at the bottom.
