The majority of my money is being saved to pay for more college classes, so i really don't have money to spend on hardware and i probably won't for a while.

So i picked the ''No, I buy new hardware whenever I want'' option, even though it's not very accurate for me.

But every Christmas i usually do try a get myself a little something, this year i might delay that till early next year if i have money left.

I replied Yes, I gift myself an upgrade, because of the upgrade I've just got myself. Normally, I buy stuff whenever I want. My PC was almost three years old (graphics card excepted) and it's time.

Usually I upgrade once in one or two months but most of it are trades and not real buys!
Two days ago I traded my X4 965 for 1090T + some CASH...it was a quick deal not that I need it!
I answered No,I buy whenever I...... because the only component I can't resist are VGA's,I BUY them whenever a new decent one comes out...

I gift myself hardware, ask for them specifically as gifts, and buy them whenever i want or need them within the year.

Such as just 2 days ago i ordered a new case, for christmas i asked for a new keyboard and sound card, and within this year i upgraded to sandy bridge

For me Christmas is not an opportunity to buy new hardware, I probably will buy a gift (a headset, a new mouse) to my niece...

I voted "No". Not only because I buy whenever I like (or more like, whenever I have the money to do so), but also because I don't buy hardware on christmas time. Prices are jacked up and it's really hard to find a good deal.

Just buy whenever I want, I have never had a hardware gift in my life, it would be pointless.

I mean, presents are meant to be a surprise so you cant go asking for stuff, coupons are viewed kind of impersonal in my family/friends so I never get them either.

Imagine your sitting running a intel processor, Christmas morning and you open up a AMD x4... great thought by the buyer but really not much use.

I upgraded a few minor things in my wife's and kids' computers. Anything major is usually planned around income tax return time in March.

I bought my wife an Andriod tablet for an early present. She loves it. It is a 10" Le Pan.

"Yes, I gift myself an upgrade"

I found a Evga GTX470 for a bargain, it will "look" nice for a 3WaySLi and also will get 1 Corsair ForceGT 120GB.

I gift myself hardware whenever I damn well please. So I voted "Ill be happy with whatever I get". I don't expect gifts from anyone, so its always a nice surprise if somebody does gift me something.

I do tend to use Christmas/my birthday as an excuse to buy expensive stuff I always wanted. But computer hardware is not on the list this year as I'm totally happy with my current setup.
Well... maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe a new HDD.

I'll be happy with whatever I get. Honestly I didn't want anything this year. "want" and "need" are two different things. I asked for nothing or to donate to a charity.
