Canned response manager
I don't know if this is the correct forum, but I'll try anyway.
I read this thread here and once again I wanted a canned response manager. You know you can do it in Gmail and in certain mail programs, but I want a program were you simply can create text snippets. It would be similiar to Kreij's great program above, but with the ability to create small texts (like contact information etc). It would be an icon in the system tray (at least that was how it worked when I was at MS support), you clicked that icon and you got a list of "canned responses", or just texts. At the top of the list you had an option to insert or remove texts, and you could enter a title for each text. I think the text snippets were stored in simple .txt files, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, once a text snipped was created its title was put in the drop down meny, and when you clicked that row the content of that text was copied to the clipboard. It was wonderful and extremely useful. I've been looking for something as simple and powerful but it just doesn't exist. It does exist here and here, but neither of the authors of the comments are avaliable. I've mailed them but no answer. And again, I have tried lots of other programs (I don't remember the names right now, but there are some out there but nothing like this) but nothing really cuts it. So, anyone have any ideas? Don't really know why I'm trying this (I did make a thread quite some time ago but to no avail), but I just want it.. I imagine it wouldn't be very hard to write but the only code I know is some retardedly simple C. ![]() As always, thanks for looking!
