Man strangles local child after being wound up on CoD: Black ops

Quote:
During a round of Call of Duty: Black Ops, 46-year-old Mark Bradford (pictured) was snuffed out during an online match by a 13-year-old player. Instead of respawning and trying to avenge himself in-game, Bradford went to the boy's house and choked him.

"I'd been playing the whole day and he was baiting me and baiting me and just would not shut up," said Bradford, an unemployed father of three.

According to the Daily Mail, Bradford "lost it" after the teenager called him a name. Bradford stormed into the boy's nearby house and began choking the 13-year-old with both hands.

"It's pathetic that a grown man would attack a defenceless child like this," said the boy's 33-year-old mother. "If you can't handle losing to a child then you shouldn't be playing games."

Bradford, who apparently has mental health issues, said, "He went on and on and I just lost it. I hold my hands up, I lost the plot. In a moment of madness I went round to his house. I didn't know what I was going to do."

"It wasn't malice," Bradford said, continuing. "I just grabbed him. I've seen him since and apologised. We've played online too. He's actually a decent kid."

The boy's mother pulled Bradford off her son. His neck was red, and he was scratched during the altercation.

"We'd had a bit of a joke and then he stormed in and grabbed me," said the boy. "I didn't know what was going on."

Bradford pleaded guilty to one count of assault, and he is currently waiting to be sentenced. Apparently, he is a family acquaintance of the 13-year-old.

If someone entered my house and assaulted my child, they would be leaving in a body bag.

Not to excuse the guy's actions (if the story is true), but let's face it: we all know that kid was probably being a smack-talking brat.

It doesn't matter, it's just a game. Mark should have been shot for his actions IMO.

I agree with the "it's just a game" part. That's why I said I don't excuse his actions.

If it had been one of his classmates of the same age and they got in a fight or something, that is one thing.
This was a 46 year old whacko. How he got into the house in the first place is beyond me ... aquaintance of the family or not.

I don't know how it is in your area, but where I'm from most people keep the doors unlocked while they're at home. If he was a "family friend" I'd guess he just walked right in.

I'm amazed at how upset people can get over games.

Regardless of age we all know people can be pushed to violence. The problem with the electronic age is that someone can torment someone else and not see the damage they have done. Most children have easy lives and cannot understand they are really ruining someone else's day/week. Just look at lulsec.

That is part of the reason why kids like the one in the story often bully other kids with help and some children/young adults are forced to the point that they will commit suicide.

This time he just picked on an old loser with nothing to lose. The kid probably deserved it and the old crazy guy should be in an institution.

Loosen child labor law a little and have 13 and up kids learning skills through working easy jobs to help the family "put food on the table"(metaphorically) while in school. It would build character and make them actually become mature. Maturity is something learned through hard work/effort and not taught in school.

I consider this one of those "we've all though about doing it" moments. Sure, it's crazy that the guy actually did it, but you can't honestly tell me you've never heard some 13-year old punk stringing swears together and being ill-behaved and wanted to just choke his ass out...

Kid kills man in game. Man strangles kid in reality. People say man should be executed.

Everyone thinks they have a legit motivation, and they all help violence beget violence.

Damn it feels good to be an e-gangster.
