PowerColor Announces Radeon HD 6970 Devil 13 Graphics Card
TUL Corporation, a leading manufacturer of AMD graphic cards, today reveals the ultimate edition of the HD 6970: Devil 13 HD 6970. Designed to fulfill the most demanding HD titles, the Devil 13 HD 6970 has default clock settings at 880 MHz core speed and 1375MHz memory speed. An OC switch means gamers can easily increase 10% frequencies to 960 MHz core and 1425 MHz memory, boosting up gaming performance to the next level.
Solidly-Built Components Onboard The Devil 13 HD6970 is built with solid components; including 12 phases design, direct FET, high current power beat and proadlizer, enhancing the power frequency and offering superb stability and reliability voltage for GPU with minimum conduction losses and lower temperatures at load. These components deliver the steadiest and most secure power to boost for gaming performance. Devil13 Exclusive Design The Devil 13 HD6970 includes voltage measurement points for gamers to measure and monitor the GPU voltage by multimeter. The Devil 13 is also pimped out with LED lighting signals that show the working status of current GPU, delivering a stylish experience while gaming. High Efficiency Thermal Solution The Devil 13 HD6970 is equipped with two ultra large 92mm cooling fans, providing 60% better air flow than normal 80mm fan. With 4x 8 ø large heat pipes, heat is easily dissipated from the copper base which fully covers the GPU. With the optimization of the dual fan thermal design, the Devil 13 HD6970 can provide a quieter working environment with lower fan speed and deliver a better user experience. The Devil 13 HD6970 supports 2nd generation DirectX 11 technology and HD3D technology, providing intense gaming experience and unrivalled image quality with stunning 3D visual effects. The Devil 13 edition is also compatible with AMD’s Eyefinity technology, maximizing the field of view up to 4 displays, enabling a vivid gaming experience like never before.

When I saw the 13, I thought that it could connect 13 monitors.
Someone needs to tell Powercolor that the number 13 and the devil have no connection.

Avery nice looking card, would go well with the many black and red themed motherboards out there and the dual fans with 4 8mm heat pipes sounds nice although it needs reviewing by someone who would show off the heatsink, i think we all know who should be doing that
.The screwdriver set (i assume that's what it is?) is an interesting bundle compared to most these days although i have to wonder how much of a price premium this card will come with.

My first thought was *cough* MARS II *cough*
But only because of the colour scheme. And dual fan. It'd be nice to see this up against the 6970 Lightning (at 940Mhz). |

Just because superstitions (fear of demons) say it, doesn't make it any luckier or unlucky. But I'm sure Powercolor doesn't care as long as some people think that means it is better than others. Course I'm sure there are some that will buy it only because it has 13 and devil in the name. I really wonder how much of a market there is for this naming scheme. Someone must have thought they'd stir up some interest with the name to sell more Radeons. |

why they take 13? most avoid 13
devil usually linked to 666 not 13, or they wanna say 'its unlucky devil coz it has number 13' for cooling sollution, the scheme close to Mars design o..o...

cooler looks similar to the Twin Frozr III design if i had to guess its probably the same OEM that makes MSI's coolers which if my hunch is correct the card should be pretty damn fast and run cool as well.

interesting card... the marketing is actually pretty minimalistic as is the design of the card, take the stupid 13 off and just call it a "devil 6970" and it would work.

They should have thrown on an extra phase so the number 13 could make some sense.

It does makes sense, 6.66 x two fans is "kinda" 13.

I have owned A few 69XX.
1) PowerColor 6970 PCS+ (returned due to high temps) 2) MSI T/F III 6950 3) SAPPHIRE 6950 Toxic(s) (3x 3x DoA) 4) MSI 6970 Lighthing. (should of got this in the first place) I must say this card does look very nice and would Match any ROG themed board or even my Lian Li ARMORSUIT PC-P50R . But when it comes down to the Brass Tax it is really too slow .. for A highend 6970. Now I did not see A price point but I will ASSume 379.99 - 399.99 .. but the MSI Lighting Min Clock is 940 .. Mine will OC to 988 with out adding more volts. I dont see the value here at all ... but I am sure their are A few that will take this just because of the color. .. but the Lighthing is HUGE. Another note .. the PowerColor PCS+ 6970 clock is at 940 .. why do you need a button too get that with the devil 13 ???? http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...5/IMG_0373.jpg ^ in that pic from left 2 right. 4850 / MSI T-F III 6950 / MSI 6970 Lighting.
