Mirror's Edge Fans Should Keep Holding Their Breath For The Sequel
Mirror’s Edge received good reviews when it was released and has been quite popular with gamers who unsurprisingly, want a sequel. This is especially important in the case of Mirror’s Edge, as this game is single player only, so it’s not something a gamer can come back to time after time. However, a sequel has never really been on the cards for Electronic Arts, since it didn’t sell as well as they had thought it should have and rejected a prototype ME2. Now, developer DICE have been busy with other projects such as upcoming blockbuster Battlefield 3, but good news could be on the horizon, since Electronic Arts are adamant that Mirror’s Edge is an important brand for their portfolio. SPOnG recently interviewed Patrick Liu from DICE and asked him if he thought that the games market would be receptive to Mirror’s Edge 2. He answered:

I enjoyed the first Mirrors Edge, so to here him say they know what they want to improve and realize that the market is there waiting, makes me super glad!!

Yeah, I'm glad it's coming out too. I never bought it, but I thought the graphics looked fantastic. I might yet do so, if the sequel looks especially compelling.

Trust me I'm still holding. Can't wait to see what the sequel will end up like.

Sure, but at least they recognize that people want a sequel, that should drive it home.

Oh yes, this news means that they will definitely be making a sequel, make no mistake. They may not be actively working on it right now, but they will definitely be doing so soon. Something life BF3 makes so much more money, that they're bound to prioritize it ahead of ME2.

I truly enjoyed the first one (got the no-weapons achievement too!), but it was fairly love-or-hate across the gaming population, wasn't it?
Negative reviews I read often sounded like the reviewer didn't realise the controls needed particular button timings to pull off the more difficult moves ...in fact the game never told you that critical fact. Hmm. The time trials were awesome sauce also. |

Not releasing a sequel would be utterly idiotic...

Do eeeeeeeet. Just do it. It's a fantastic game. Some things is not so great, but it's one of the few games I can play for its gameplay alone.

As someone who actually does Parkour, I found the game frustrating as hell lol
All the ways I would go in reality Faith couldn't do, but she could quite happily jump 20 feet away to a bar that's lower than her self a great deal without snapping her arms off. Very frustrating. |

It's a game, not a simulation. They've traded some realism for the fun factor.

Don't get me wrong the bits that did go right did feel very fluid and pretty real, but as their amount of movements faith could do was restricted ( due to there being so damn many so devs are forgiven) I'd find myself going for a big diving vault or something only for Faith to just stop because well, she didn';t know how XD |
