Thinking of getting a better GFX card, what PSU do I need?

Ok, I have had my eyes on this "Zotac 580GTX" card for some time, since no one else is buying it they have lowered the price from around 470$ to just 400$.

Problem is if you look at my systems specifications, my powersupply is rather weak (well.. very weak).
These are the brands they currently have:
Antec
Cooler Master
Corsair
Fractal design
FSP
OCZ
Zalman

I'm asking you, because they just want to "sell" whatever they can to earn money, and I do not know if what I get is overkill or good or what..

They do however only have 1 Zalman PSU in store, and it's a 750w.

I'm running a 750w OCZ and it hasn't given me any problems.

i would go for FSP or Corsair, Check this link out http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=39758

EDIT: Go for some thing around 750w and when you find a PSU check for reviews on the net see what others say ( [H] and Jonny Guru come to mind ).

Remember that links old now but should still give some insight.

AT least 750w for a system like yours + a GTX 580.

Yeah 750w-800w, i like to double what the system will use. O yeah check if you can get the manufacture warranty and not just the shops as the Corsair one might have a 7 year warranty with it.

Minimum spec is a 600W, max power draw of the card is around 324 watts, thats not overclocked of course, I would also be inclined to go for a Corsair, FSP or one of the better OCZ models and probably at least 700W to give you some headroom.

Yeah I would go with a corsair personally got a tx650 and its never gave me a hiccup once, its about 2 year old i think now good quality PSU's can be quite steep in price someplaces but if you shop around am sure you will find something, also i agree with the rest 750+ is good sounding for that system
