Unlocking GeForce FX 5200 Ultra AGP8x?

Hello. I'm sort of a newbie to this stuff (building computers, overclocking ETC)
I recently took apart an old machine and sucessfully rebuilt it. I also took some parts out of my computer I did'nt need anymore (floppy drive, cd-burner) because I'm getting a sound card and want to conserve power, as I have a 300w power supply.

Anyway, I was reading on how to unlock pixel pipelines. Apparantly the reason we're able to overclock & unlock is because the manufacturs want to reduce manufacturing cost?? That's what I read.

Anyways I have a slightly aging card and want to run the hell out of this one until Christmas when I'll be getting a new video card :toast:

My current video card has only 4 pixel pipelines. :banghead:

I would like to unlock more pipelines but I am lacking in knowledge of how to do so, can anyone help me?

I'm not sure about unlocking pipelines on it, but you can flash it to a GeForce FX 5500.

Thanks for the prompt reply but I dunno what flash it means?
I already have GPU speed at 350 and RAM speed at 700mhz
edit: idles at 45c

Flash means you're going to flash the BIOS of the card to the BIOS of an FX5500...but I just figured out that the only difference between the FX5200 and FX5500 is core and memory speed, so I guess you're already there.

there are no pipelines to unlock in FX5200, THE ONLY DIFERENCE between those two cards except clocks are tha the 5500 usually comes with a fan for cooling

My video card came w/ a fan on the GPU. I wish I had a stock fan but to compensate I have a fan blowing into open tower :shadedshu

I understood it you just forget to confirm about the pipelines, wich cooler do you have on your card now?

What me? I have a small fan mounted on the GPU and heatsinks on teh ram.

I'd rather not, at 353 mhz gpu the screen got all buggy.

vmod is a mod to the voltage and not bad w/ the cuirrent oc i have only been able to get 340/580 out of my ti4200 card which i am a firm believer has a better gpu than the fx series

the Geforce 5 series has got to be the worst gpu series in the history of man kind. :ohwell:

yeah i guess my ti is still pretty close to that but yeah for the fx series its good
