I have 2x XFX Radeon HD 6950 2GB Both with Lifetime Warranty not registered yet have them about 2 weeks just want to try them out. Would like to trade for a GeForce GTX 580 3GB version. It's a shame I'm not in the market for a Quad-Fire setup atm or I would love to grab these :/ the joys of being an unemployed student are so numerous lol

Unfortunately... It would seem so.

Warranty is only limited to 2 years unless you register your products within 30days of purchase

He should still be able to register them and then if he sells trades them all you have to do is transfer the registration number to the next owner. However this transfers only once.

I don't mean to thread crap and I am somewhat interested in these cards but they appear to be going for less after rebate shipped on the link you put in with a free game. I'm just letting you know in case you're dying to have that new card. It might be a hard sale.

If you confirm registration for the transfer on the warranty I'll watch for any price drops.
