460 -> 560(448)
What's your guys thoughts? I foresee the new cards as tempting enough to warrant the upgrade. Stick it out til HD7k's?

it depends on how much you can sell the 460 for. the 460 has 336cores while the newer one has an extra 112. also i think the 448core 560 will be higher clocked and more power efficient as well. the way i see it buying a 448core 560 would be like somehow merging an 8800GT into your 460 at the very least in terms of raw power. (i know fermi is much better than the gpu the 8800gt has, so the 448core 560 would be that much better i guess lol)
if you can resell the 460 for a good price and pay minimal in the end for the 448core 560 the i'd go for it, you can later do the same with that 448core 560 when the new gtx6xx or hd7xxx come out. oh and the added vram would help too, whether its 1280mb or 1.5gb

You're main problem is, you're 460 is the 768mb version. Even the normal 560ti would be a noticeable upgrade. So, Grab a 560 if you can get it in a bargain. You CAN wait for the 7k/600 series, but there are no guarantees that the price of your 460 won't drop to the bottom. In that case, you'll have to pay nearly the full price of the new gen card. If you're willing to, then why not buy the new 560 now, then upgrade to a kepler/7k if they turn out to be worth it.

I know having more than 768mb of Vram will help at 1080p. Just food for thought.

Thanks guys. Problem is I only truly like to upgrade like once/year.
@erocker You know how much I game. Most I've been playing is Rage for about an hour per week nowadays. Just want to give my gamer a liittle refresh in case there may be a new title I would want to play at 2xAA or greater on high. |

In that case you may want to take a look at what titles are coming out in the next couple months or so. of course any games that do come out your 460 should at least be able to do med to med-high settings at the worst. so i guess there's no harm in waiting... (hopefully there isn't a fab screwup or something to delay the gpus)
