Those are some easy fixes, open up skyrim hd folders, dig through them, it will become apparent which files they share and don't share if you look into the skies sections of them, then whichever one you like, delete the files from the other one.

Oops misfired.

Though I'm now aware of christwire.org so unthanks for that!

Finally got off my duff and got a merchant gold mod and sold a bunch of stuff and made bankola and bought and decked out the Solitude and Markarth houses (earlier was using the College and the Abandonded House in Markarth for storage). Now that I have weapon racks and bookshelves and my own alchemy and enchanting rooms and such I wish I hasn't waited so long.

No it won't.
I use them all three myself.

If you don't want to risk I think the best choice is to install your mods through Nexus Mod Manager. That way you can enable/disable mods at the click of a button instead of going fishing through the data file for the mods' files. Also, through NMM you can choose which mods you want to over-write other mods.

I am trying to install this rock and mountain retexture mod called Skyrocks, but i have this other mod called Realistic Skyrim Overhaul that i guess changes moutain/rock textures too. And in the mountain folder of the RSO mod it has the same exact files that the skyrocks mod has? Will it be alright if i just copy over it?

It should just overwrite those particular files.

I have these, And with all settings cranked to ultra and view distances turned up I stay at 45 fps mostly. in some smoky areas it drops to 35, but in a lot of places it comes back up to 60. I also have vurts flora overhaul, but I installed it manually before I got the manager.

Edit: It uses 1995mb of vram, with the cards at 900/1300, and a little over a gig of RAM.

Edit again: At the overlook whiterun, framerates drop to 22.

I was actually thinking about using the Realistic lighting w/o post processing to use it with the enhanced shaders. from the pictures of it. it looks really good

So heres the Skyrock mod i was talking about

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5686

I am currently helping him in ways to make it even better for v2.0

I think he is adding some brownish to it to make it a bit dirtier and more realistic, and then more darkness to certain areas and more light reflective.

Oh and more relief so the rocks don't look so flat.

That is a really fucking good idea. The rock/mountain textures really are quite horrid in a lot of places.

its hard though. theres only two texture files for rocks so its hard to get it perfect for different situations. I told him if he just took 1.5.1 added some color and then made the darks darker and the parts where light hits the wrong make it brigher through contrast adjustments itll make it look really good.

Only two texture files? Damn, that's fucking lazy on Bethesda's part. No wonder large rocks and mountains and such look like the texture is stretched all over the place.

Sometimes I wonder how much Bethesda is relying on the community to make Skyrim what it should have been.

Obvious reuse of voice actors, obvious blocky face normal map which is not fixed in any patch they released so far because someone from the community fixed it or them.

They have jumped straight on to quest debugging with the next patch.

Currently seems over 2GB RAM is the bare minimum for playing the game with out random CTD on PC.

So it seems.

Even with 8 gigs and 4 gig patches there are occasional CTDs.

well yeah thats why they allow modding for their PC games because they don't have to waste money in trying to make it what the PC gamers want. the modders will just do it, and even better sometimes.

I personally think it is a great thing that Bethesda allows modding, but at the same time, I do get concerned about how much quality they drop out of the final product due to modding when it comes to console gamers.

I think Skyrim is a technical masterpiece, I think it's crashed no more than 2 times in 75hrs+ it looks epic, and is only 6gig or so, etc, etc.

One thing I'm curious about is magika....do I have to level up my magika bar to take on the tougher mages?....I'm playing two handed and have devoted all my 35l's worth of points into that and health/stamina, but I'm very vulnerable to some mages, and would be destroyed if swamped by a few of them.

I play lonewolf though....

Ive never had a single crash in this game. And yes it is a masterpiece, with and without mods. I just like mods becauise its they are fun to install and see the difference
