I'll recommend this:

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R1 Contin...

I got one cheaper over at my local Fry's during Black Friday for like $24.99

But as always, Sneeky has some coolers on his thread that are cheap and nearly new condition

Xigmatech coolers have always been extremely good values for the money.

the sunbeam twister 120 and gelid tranquillo rev2 are also pretty decent but the hyper 212 is difficult to beat at this price point.

Well I'm getting the 25k from the newegg and I get another $10 off the EVO for the combo

so is that the best for that price range ?

What's a good Xigmatech ?

the gaia is decent but the aegir is better .. a tad at least.
if you get 10 off with the combo there is not much that can touch that unless you would get the same off with another combo.

for xigmatek i would recommend to replace the fan and possibly get a 2nd on if you oc

Depends how high you want to go with OC. Until 4.4-4.5 the CM 212+ will do the job right.

Extremely good yea, but from the horror stories I've heard, their customer service stinks bigtime. I recommend getting a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus or EVO as well.

Hyper 212 for sure...I've seen them for as little as $20. There are other medium size towers in the same price range that probably cool about the same, but the CM heatsinks have one huge advantage, the retention system. No crappy push pins for Intel, no annoying clip for AMD, no hard to find separately sold retention kit, no giant bag of mystery parts, no worry about over tension. It just works perfectly.

Sunbeam CCF, Xigmatek Dark Knight, I know of a few good Akasa coolers. Really depends on the price of each of those I mentioned. Do have to agree, can't really go wrong with the 212+.

Provided you have decent case airflow and are not living in a sauna, the Hyper 212 is easily enough for 4.5-4.8'ish clocks.

I meant to add that the newer Hyper 212 EVO is worth consideration because it has a different fan. The fan on the older 212 is a piece of junk that's annoying when operating at low speed in PWM mode. It might me worth the extra $10 or so when a decent fan cost $10-20 + shipping anyway.

I grabbed the Hyper 212 Evo for my son's Christmas Rig and I had to open it to see if I needed to re-install the stock mounting clips on the motherboard, and I can tell you it is a pretty nice looking cooler. We haven't installed it yet, but if the looks are any indication, it will be a damn nice cooler for the $$$.

That's not the only thing that's different. The bottom contact is merged and has no more gaps vs. the older 212+. So if one wants to take off the stock thermal paste and apply their own, there will be a lot more direct contact with the CPU itself and the sink

HYper 212.

Its funny how everyone recommends this cooler, even when its not the best cooler. Value for money wins I guess.
