This is what should have gone into the Wii U instead of a creaky old R770. I'll bet this is what will end up in the Xbox 720.

Very nice. So it's not a rebrand. VLIW4 1024SP, 128-bit GDDR5 high-speed (that's 1350 MHz) should make this an incredible deal.

With zero information on hand, that graph pretty-much says a special-olympics runner is more "special" than a standard olympics one. Take your pick.

This card is the first major upgrade to the HD 5770 in two years, since the HD 6770 was just a rebrand.
SPECIFICATIONS
It is the same thing card as the 5770. Its a rebrand just like the 6770 was. So where is the freaking upgrade at? Same damn specs.

What?Uhm, no. The HD 5770 has: SPECIFICATIONS
Besides, the HD 5770 is a 40nm Juniper-XT core and the HD 7770 is a 28nm Cape Verde XT (Graphics Core Next Gen). Also, the HD 7770 is supposed be a PCI-e 3.0 card, while the HD 5770 was/is a PCI-e 2.1 card. I see a lot of differences. It's not a rebrand. |

I was really hope this chip and not need a 6-pin, but that does kill it for OC'n.
Might still be that they skip the 7750 (do we really need it?) and just release this 28Nm (cutback) as the 7670 maintaning the chip to 75W, for those that have and OEM box and quality 300-350W PSU. |

Hmm, I thought only the Tahiti based cards were built off GCN, and the rest were VLIW4 like the Cayman series (aside from the low-end rebrands remaining VLIW5)?

No.
The tahiti, the *confidental, ryhims with (damn! nothing... oh well) * and the Cape Verde are all based on CGN according to... rumors based on leaks from AMD
