Gigabyte Intros New Revision of GA-EG41MFT-US2H
The market for socket LGA775 is still far from dead as there are large inventories of cheap Core 2, Pentium, and Celeron chips left in the market, as well as buyers upgrading their DDR2 systems to those with DDR3, to benefit from the DDR3 fire sale. Gigabyte introduced a new revision of its GA-EG41MFT-US2H, revision 1.4, with an updated gigabit Ethernet chip. The micro-ATX motherboard uses 3+1 phase VRM to power the processor, a wide range of Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad processors are supported. The processor is wired to Intel's G41 northbridge. Surprisingly, its graphics controller gives out an HDMI connection apart from DVI and D-Sub. It is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots, supporting up to 8 GB of memory.
Expansion slots include two PCI, one each of PCI-Express 1.1 x16 and PCIe x1. The ICH7 southbridge drives four SATA 3 Gb/s ports, and an IDE connector. The gigabit ethernet controller has been updated to RTL8111E, from the 8111D found on the older revision. Other features include 8-channel HD audio, Firewire, FDC, COM, and a number of USB 2.0 ports. Expect a sub-$100 pricing for this board.

I know lota guys (budget gamers) who runs (on "high" settings) every new console port 2011 (soon 2012) on 775 and dual core and HD 4850 form 2008 and have no problems with hardware or lack of "power". and If 775 is for work and browsing- than no question at all - it will do it job way after 2012.

Well, try to overclock q6600 on this. It will fry the mobo instantly, where some good ol' 965&P35 boards had no problem to push it over 4.2GHz.

Wow. I mean, I knew Gigabyte still made them, but a new model?
And this one doesn't seem all that great, from what I've seen in the specifications page. |

s775 for ddr3 now? you been in a cave for 2 years? this is nothing new. hell it's been hard to find a decent solid-cap ddr2 s775 mobo for quite awhile here thats in good supply. pita for customers with full ddr2 slots who's mobos fail.
regardless i'll enjoy troglodyting instead of wasting money on an i7 that will do absolutely nothing for me in games or desktop use at 1920x1200 over my q9550 @4ghz. notice how high end socket 775 results are totally absent from any benchmarks anymore? most ppl still have s775 parts, but the cold war propeganda wing of hardware marketing would rather most don't see how little upgrade there is for teh average user. sure folding, 3d rendering with stuff like 3dsmax,or certain file compression you deff get a good upgrade, but for the average user who doesn't attach their fragile ego to their hardware, it's just a waste of money. |

I've got v1.3 of this motherboard with 2 x 2GB DDR3 DIMMs - I believe the ram I have is doubled sided as I used a program which gave the following output - I see 2 Rank mentioned for both DIMMs and both DIMMS have microchips on both sides.
I can get some PNY RAM which is Single sided will Single sided and double sided RAm work together in this machine? Also is it possible to use 4GB modules in this motherboard? I know the Gigabyte website says a maximu of 4 x 2GB (8GB in Total) But one program I ran suggested it could take 32GB in total General Information : A0 (RAS 1) : 2048 (Singl A1 : Empty A2 (RAS 3) : 2048 (Singl A3 : Empty Information SPD EEPROM Manufacturer : PNY Elect Part Number : Unspecifie Serial Number : 0018E908 Type : DDR3-SDRAM PC3-10 Format : UDIMM (133.35 x Size : 2048 MB (1 ranks Module Buffered : No Module Registered : No Module SLi Ready (EPP) : Module XMP : No Width : 64-bit Error Correction Capabil Voltage : 1.50v Prefetch Buffer : 8-bit Manufacture : 2000 Thermal Sensor : No Heat Spreader : No Supported Frequencies : CAS Latency (tCL) : 6 clocks @ 4 RAS to CAS (tRCD) : 6 clocks @ 4 RAS Precharge (tRP) : 6 clocks @ Cycle Time (tRAS) : 17 clocks @ Min TRC : 23 clocks @ 457 MHz, 2 Information SPD EEPROM (A2) : Manufacturer : Elpida Part Number : EBJ21UE8BDF0-DJ-F Serial Number : 91133ED018E90800 Type : DDR3-SDRAM PC3-10700 (667 Format : UDIMM (133.35 x 15) Size : 2048 MB (2 ranks, 8 bank Module Buffered : No Module Registered : No Module SLi Ready (EPP) : No Module XMP : No Width : 64-bit Error Correction Capability (EC.
