AMD and Globalfoundries claim 50% Improvement

Enhanced Bulldozer (Piledriver) x86 Cores is being talked about. The same that will go into desktops. 50% improvement in GFlops in same power consumption is really good. This could help AMD get back in race
Quote:
AMD and Globalfoundries claim that Trinity will offer up to 50% improvement in GFLOPS performance with the same power consumption as currently available A-series "Llano" APUs or similar GFLOPS horsepower with 50% reduction of power consumption.

While basic specs and peculiarities are known, it is still unclear how much more powerful will the enhanced Bulldozer (Piledriver) x86 cores be compared to the first-generation Bulldozer offerings and what will be different between the two iterations of the micro-architecture.

System Specs

400 VLIW5 Cores @ 600MHz = 480GFlops
480 VLIW4 Cores @ 750MHz = 720GFlops

Done...

Llano
480GFlops = 100Ws
Trinity
480GFlops = 50Ws
720GFlops = 100Ws

More done...

Not surprised or shocked
