I can barely get the forum pages to load?

Is it just me today? It's like I have a 28K modem or worse. A third of the page loads, the rest remains blank, with the 'loading' icon still turning on Firefox. The page 'freezes' for 5 minutes or more.

It's been like this for 5 hours now. Other sites are normal. I checked speedtest and my internet speed is normal. I rebooted, ran virus scan...

My internet connection is 8Mbps, some time ago I was downloading a file at 1Mbps.

I never had this problem before. I clicked and reloaded like 6 times to even open this thread.

I'm getting this only here and at GN.net

I've had the main page hang loading on and off with Firefox a lot in the recent few months. And when I look down to see what it is stuck loading it is always one of the external ads. The address it is waiting on is always ad.blahblah.com.

Though since I just noticed there are no ads on the forums, that is probably unrelated.(Sorry)

Have you done the standard clearing of firefox's cache and cookies?

Or pathping. It's more adequate if the problem resides in lost packets. Takes some time to do it, though, when compared to traceroute.

Works ok for me too. Perhaps there's something funny with the computer? Have you tried on another?

If both are bad, then have you tried looking at other sites? How well do they load?

It's only happening here and at generalnonsense.net

I really pity you Kreij if it's always like this for you! It's nearly unbearable.

Can someone explain to me what could be happening? Is my ping and traceroute normal?

Same for me BP. While my connection is always slow, only TPU gives me half page loads that require me to repeatedly refresh the page(s).
I'm using IE9 and the browser puts the little TPU logo in the tab as if it's done loading and I sometimes only have two or three posts showing out of a whole page.

It's not consistent, though. Sometimes pages load almost immediately. (shrug)

Today everything's back to normal.
Weird since apparently it was only me who experienced this slowdown yesterday..

But anyway, thanks W1zzard if it's due to something you fixed.

It's too slow here. Especially when I try to open more than two pages. Every other url works fine.

Now I think about it, while I don't get those half loaded pages, sometimes when I click the thanks button, it disappears, but the thanks doesn't appear under the post and I have to refresh the page. It's very intermittent, though, with only the occasional glitch.
