Mass Effect 3 won't be on Steam

Looks like ME3 won't be on steam now according to this post. It also indicates that you need Origin to play the game. What is also interesting is that ME3 has an opt out option for data collection.

Since they released launched Origin (still beta?!) I was expecting this. We can't do nothing, not even Gabe.

why do you want to turn it off?

I'm beginning to wonder if all future EA games won't be featured on steam now.

then i guess they lose all future purchases from me then not like i give a rats ass eitherway.

I got plenty of money to spend but if there not going to put it on the platform i actually like to use on PC ill just find another way to get it and bypass Origin, its nothing against EA really i just hate having to remember 20 billion god damn things i have to log into just play some damn games.

and since i have like what 50 games on steam... and 1 on origin we can all tell what platform i actually use.

EA is just going to lose sales volume from this, theyll still sell on PC just far less digital sales then steam would bring in the drop in sales will be attributed to piracy and not to a lack of steam. and the cycle will repeat nothing ever really changes much,

I don't mind data collection if it's to improve a game like what they did with Dragon Age and keep a option to turn it off if you wanted. Wont be long now till Gamefly want there app on your comp as D2D is moving to Gamefly.

So i guess in a few more years we will have a shit load of apps that we will need to have installed to play the games we want to play.. I bet UBI not to far from doing it them selfs too.

Just more titles I won't be buying...at least not at launch. For me to buy ME3, I expect a big discount price knowing it is on Origin.

How bout pirates and hackers do something useful and start hacking every Origin exclusive to work on Steam.

Not really surprising, especially since they used the same excuse to remove Crysis 2 and Dragon Age II from Steam.

Not really surprising. And I don't really care about Steam, since I don't (can't) use it.

Meh, I won't buy it then. I prefer Steam, not just because I buy a lot of my games through their service, but Steam customer support actually exists.

I think I'll buy the 360 version just so i dont have to use Origin. Even if Origin was better than steam (which its not, its dog turd) i dont like splitting up my games library between distribution services.

EA are shooting themselves in the foot, to try increase usage of Origin they have to force people to use it.

Very likely. Which is actually fine by me because Steam was creating a monopoly and I hate monopolies.

I have no interest in buying ME3 anyway. ME2 was a major disappointment.

they are still getting sales, and it's not like they expect significant pc sales anyway. they don't really care about origin or the pc platform, so it's no big deal.

I actually don't have a problem with Origin as it works like Steam and I have never had a problem with it.

I guess that is a problem though as Steam, according to me, made a standard for PC game playing. Origin is taking this standard away though and eventually every game publisher will want their own method, which destroys the purpose of Steam.
